FB Recruiting 2023 Four-star OL Jven Williams commits to Penn State

I'm in the middle on this (I wouldn't have fired CJF but he needs to start winning at a much higher rate very soon) but recruiting well has never been the argument of those that want him gone so what's your point other than to start an argument?
Really, who cares what you would do? Let us know when you become PSU Athletic Director.

Newsflash: This is a thread about the top rated olinemen in Pennsylvania committing to play for Penn State.

So if there is no "argument" about recruiting, why beat a dead horse here, in a thread about recruiting?

well...who cares what u think then too, right?...who are u?...just because u bold face all your responses doesn't make u some power of authority, but u sure come off that way too often

but yes this was a very good get for PSU...couldn't afford to lose him...kinda has a connection to Ross Tucker which is cool...need to get another true tackle like Evan Link

I don't follow recruiting as closely as some....but this is the second or third time I've seen Evan Link mentioned. Why is he preferred by some? There's a kid from Don Bosco and another in Brockton Mass that appear to be significantly higher rated? Wouldn't both of those prospects be in PSU's recruiting wheel house? I know that ratings aren't the final word....but just curious.

Link is just more realistic it seems...the other two PSU would love to have but they have offers from pretty much everybody and will be in a dog fight to land either

I'm just someone that reads a thread about recruiting expecting to find a discussion on recruiting.

Not a bunch of complainers that are crying about a different subject, which some here seem to try and interject into any thread they can. Which many times stifles the discussion on the OP's original subject.

But we are getting top recruits. We have a highly rated class. Our coach is a great recruiter. Why are they just toss ups?

its just the sheer amount of top programs in on these guys...Alabama, Georgia, OSU, ND etc...its just tough to get these type of elite recruits when those programs all of been to the playoffs and we haven't...unless the kid grew up a big fan of PSU to begin with but even then it's not always a done deal - see Nolan Rucci

Just found it hilarious that the guy that constantly cries about negativity is the guy that first went negative.
"Good news, not going to be popular here." Negative? Not in reference to the recruit.....a comment about the nattering nabobs of negativism that comprise the NNCAC.

Rucci’s family are one-term Tommy lackeys.

Thanks for trying to redirect, GreginPitt. It seems hopeless to keep a potentially good thread on track. The part-time employee's of Putin's troll farm are committed to ruining it. Over and out.

Seeing the agony of Franklin haters is so rewarding! I can only hope God grants me 10 more years to enjoy it.
I'm not a hater, just someone who shares some of his opinions. While the recruiting of OL has seemed to meet or even surpass that of the JoePa era, the play at the college level, and further development and success in the pros has been less and much much less respectively...in my humble non-hater opinion. We never were a full pipeline to the pros, but when will we have another Levi Brown (converted DL) or
Kareem McKenzie (top recruit, had a good pro career and signed several good contract extensions) or even Donovan Smith (might have flown under the radar at Penn State) or even John Urschel (who Joe signed as a 3 star with playing potential, but a good kid who was serious about his studies....personally the strategy for this and most other teams in the top tier is 4-5 star or walk-on....I think they miss the boat with late-bloomers, which the MAC and other schools like Temple, etc, fill.
