I'm not sure how Baldwin can be defensive player of the year but not make 1st, 2nd, or third team all conference. To be honest I don't think he deserved DPOY. He wasn't the same after his back injury.![]()

I agree with you on all fronts.I'm not sure how Baldwin can be defensive player of the year but not make 1st, 2nd, or third team all conference. To be honest I don't think he deserved DPOY. He wasn't the same after his back injury.
With a back injury he was still second in the league in steals, still was able to hold opposing players under their season average, and he still made offensive players uncomfortable. I think the coaches and media realized that even with a bad back, he was the best defensive player. What amazes me is that he gets second team NABC All District 2nd team, yet can't get on one of the Big Ten teams. Hard to believe.I'm not sure how Baldwin can be defensive player of the year but not make 1st, 2nd, or third team all conference. To be honest I don't think he deserved DPOY. for about 8 games Ace wasn't very good and as a result-neither was Penn State, finish strong though, we should have played in the NIT if it's true is was an option.I agree with you on all fronts.
They turned it down, but to be fair the NIT is awful now. The Crown is a much better event now and they pay the players too, but they also turned that down as well.for about 8 games Ace wasn't very good and as a result-neither was Penn State, finish strong though, we should have played in the NIT if it's true is was an option.
That is a bit disappointing that they would turn down either of those tournaments. For as disappointing as the season was, making a run in one of those tournaments might have taken a bit off the disappointment. They turned it down, but to be fair the NIT is awful now. If that's true then why wasn't he on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd all conference team? With a back injury he was still second in the league in steals, still was able to hold opposing players under their season average, and he still made offensive players uncomfortable. That is a good question. He can make the NABC All District team, but not any of the Big Ten teams. Seems they have more respect for him outside the Big Ten than inside the big ten.If that's true then why wasn't he on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd all conference team?
