2024-25 Schedule

And Bo’s UFC match…
I told my kid that with Bo being on the 309 card that he and I would go to Madison Square Garden and catch it in person. I've been regularly checking to see when tickets go on sale and when I checked Monday they were finally listed on Stubhub. I had to break the news to him that it wasn't happening. Decent seats start at $1800 a piece. You can get nose bleeds for like $800 a pop but who wants that? I was a little shell shocked when I saw the price. We'll be rooting for Bo from home. Lol.

I can't get thru to buy tickets.. I am also getting the 0011 error regardless of how I try to buy.. phone/tablet/computer..

I got a variety of error messages, including one which asked me to check if I was signed into my TM account - which I was.

Why can’t they have the All-Star meet on a day other than the Black Knight Classic? This will be another year where everybody whines about PSU guys not having enough matches. Personally I don’t think it matters if they go to a tournament and beat a bunch of backups and unranked guys.

Some of the opens might be more intriguing. If no other reason, they might be used to settle potential post season lineup spots at 133, 157, and 197?. Seems everything else is pretty well settled.

I'm guessing no starters going to the Black Knight Invitational. This takes a little of the sting out of missing that event for the All-Star Classic, since I will be in the State College area overnight and will be able to catch the Drexel match.

Binghamton announced their schedule and we are listed for Dec 22.

Edit in Nashville at the Journeyman Duals. They also have Little Rock and Missouri listed so that must be what they were told would be the pool

And I quote the article. "Penn State wrestling will hold two matches in the Bryce Jordan Center during the 2024-2025 season. It marks the first time that will be the case in program history." Apparently their knowledge of Penn State Wrestling only goes back ONE year since two years ago we had TWO duals in the BJC, against Iowa and Michigan. I would call this pathetic journalism but it does NOT deserve to be called journalism.

Also had two duals before that in 2015, Wisconsin and then Ohio State.

Greg Pickel with a master class:

"...it will likely be a big-time opponent worthy of a venue bigger than Rec Hall. And, if not, then the Wolverines will probably join the Hawkeyes in wrestling Penn State at the BJC..."
This is trash talk! It truly is better than the pink 🍌. Carter should be taking notes.

Glad the reported date of the Black Knight Invitational was off. Now I don't have to choose between the All-Star Classic and it.

Btw, is it just me or is the away schedule more appealing than the home schedule this season?

Cael does it again. Little Rock is on the schedule!

Edit: At the duals in Nashville, but nonetheless, they get their chance.

Ir's just you. Iowa and Michigan at home and the only decent team on the road is Nebraska.

Bur unless the Journey Men Duals format has changed we are not actually wrestling Missouri. We may or may not have a few matches against Mizzou wrestlers,
I think you may be conflating the Journeymen Classic w/ Journeymen Duals. The classic is early season and has had more or less "arranged" matches in something approximating a tournament format.

Journeymen Duals is the one we've been doing down south over holiday break (instead of the scuffle) where we dual against 3 other schools in a pool, and then face the winner of another pool. Those have all been full duals (though obviously, not always with everyone's #1 at each weight (cough Sparky is Duck in Chief cough). I think Mizzou is in our pool this year, so a possible Haines/KOT match is worth contemplating--but maybe it won't happen.

I am pretty sure last time we went, last year?, we wrestled regular dual meets against the teams on our side. Which means a dual against Mizzou

Idk. We've got:

Home - All-Star Classic, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Drexel, American, Wyoming and Maryland
Away - Black Knight, Lehigh, Binghampton, A-LR, Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers, Ohio State and Illinois

So if you count the Classic, we have 3 good duals at home (although 2 are at BJC and I prefer Rec Hall) and 5 pretty uninteresting ones. Binghampton is probably the only road dual that is less or equally interesting than 5 of the home ones. I may be biased by having three road events nearby - two less than an hour away, but it seems like a pretty solid road schedule.

Wonder who's going to wrestle in the Drexel match a day after the all star classic?

$36 for a Nebraska season ticket. 90% of building is general admission. I’m in. If anyone wants the link, let me know.
