great win for JMU. They were the underdogs, but I thought they had a good chance to win. I've seen them play 2X this season, and thought they were a sleeper team that could really go far.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the 2nd semifinal game

We have a couple Hopkins girls over to watch the 2nd game. It’s great watching kids that you have known since pre school.

the BC - MD semi is an awesome game. When MD sprinted out to the early 6-2 lead, I thought it might be a boring game, but BC has been every bit the match of MD.

wow, back-to-back upsets in the semis. I would never have predicted that both JMU and BC would win. Of the two, I thought JMU had the better chance.

alas, I won't be able to watch the final on Sunday.

Unbelievable final, with JMU defeating BC. I believe the final score was 16-15. Congratulations to James Madison University, and a great effort by Boston College.

I know one of the ladies on JMU's team ... probably their top player. It's always been a tad frustrating to me that she would have committed to PSU, but PSU WLAX's had a few other players higher than her on their recruiting board that they were waiting to see what they decided. By the time PSU was willing to accept a verbal from her, she had gotten tired of waiting on them, and had verballed to JMU.

This is not a dig at you Delco Lion but I kind chuckle on the early recruiting verbals. Of the kids that I know who were highly sought after and committed when they were 13/14yr, 1 quit after their freshman fall-ball season, 1 quit after completed their freshman season, and 2 were Under Armour AA and they never play. 2 kids could not handle the academics and had to transfer.

My take is 2 fold; 1) most college coaches are not good at eyeing/predicting player development 5 yrs out and 2) success athletically at the collegiate level is pretty close to a random walk.

Last Friday we had a few collegiate players over to watch the women’s games and it was really interesting to hear about all of the girls experiences.

Ned, as a parent, it is difficult not to get wrapped up in the process. Thank you for reminding me to keep the ego in check and enjoy the ride.
