We were up for the hockey game last night....coming up 322 through Seven Mtns we were amazed at the "logging" going on for the future bypass. We knew that was in the plans but it was startling to see tnot only the trees but a few homes and the VFW Hall all gone.

Saw some articles online but did not see a map of what the end result of the construction will look like. My first though was this season will the the 'Return Of The Narrows" south of Lewistown a few years back. PENNDOT site does not show any maps that I could find. Anyone have a link?

Found this one for the interchange south of Seven Mtns..

They are getting ready to start the last phase of the narrows project. The trees had to come down during the winter months so as to not disturb the Indiana Bat habitat. Bidding on the final section it supposed to happen this spring with construction to start later in the summer (or probably just as football season gets here).

That's what the contractor told me. Apparently they migrate away for the winter and return sometime after mid April.

Drove through there today amazed at what it looks like. Can't wait till that is complete one day wonder how many of those homes who be torn down to make room for the road? When you get by the Harley dealership you have businesses on both sides close to the road should be interesting . Those engineers do amazing things look at the narrows . Amazing

The bats hibernate in caves for the winter, they roost in trees during the warmer months. Where there are bats, you can’t cut trees between Nov 15 and Mar 15.

The Indiana Bat is a listed endangered species and protected by both Federal and Pa. regulations. The
bats hibernate overwinter in caves and abandoned mines. They emerge typically around 1st of April as temperatures warm and roost including maternity roosting during the day in crevices under tree bark or in hollow trees; They prefer mature trees within 1/2 mile of water. Mature tree cutting after April 1st and prior to Nov. 1st.in suitable Indiana Bat Habitat is typically precluded as a condition of large project permits issued by Federal and State Agencies.
