330lb LSU committ anchors 4x100

It's not the real 4x100 that gets scored. My high school would do this back in 1991 when I did track. They called it the Meat or Heavy Relay where they had the guys who were throwers (shot, discus, javelin) run a relay at the end of the meet pretty much just for laughs. People would stay around to watch it.

I'm pretty sure thats not some staged sprint for giggles and laughs. Dont see any "throwers" running. lol

We did this in HS too, and called it the Fat Man relay. When I was senior, I convinced the folks in the press booth to let my buddy "announce" the race. What he did was read, in a screaming pro-wrestling announcer voice, a script he and I had written.

The offensiveness of this script was off the charts, so much so that the coach started running for the press box as soon as he started.

I was the anchor, matched against a laughably slow kid from the other school. We were behind, and just as I passed him on the turn, my buddy went even beyond the offensive script and started screaming, "Look at that fat bastard run!"

I started laughing , but still beat the kid. Silence from the press box. Then, you could hear the coach screaming at him. What the coach said was even worse, but we wouldn't have heard it if my buddy had not, in his fear and horror, turned the mic off, then back on.

Thanks. I have not thought of that in years.

I'll bet you that it is still the 2nd relay team, which means it is just a practice run. I used to run legs on the 2nd relay team where I was the only thrower on the 2nd relay team. Sometimes we didn't have enough healthy sprinters to fill both teams. Other times the coach did it for kicks and giggles and gave the spot to a thrower that won some sort of competition the day before.

Either way, if he is one of the 8 fastest sprinters on that track team, they must really suck.
