1) watching these OSU games on BTN today (the one against psu I've memorized at this point) and their offense was not impressive at all. I mean they were not impressive on the line, not at wideout, the rb is nothing special. Barrett running and Samuel were all they had and half of that is gone. I just don't get the preseason love they're getting. They recruit well, but it's not showing itself like an Alabama does and who they are always compared to.
2) not having that game at night this year is a crime. At first I was cool with it because I thought it might diminish some of the home field advantage. But the more I think about it, what's the point of having a good team if you're afraid of the big stage? No, fox really screwed to pooch on that one. There's also only one other decent game that week (FL-GA) so it's going to get the gameday treatment and all. You put that game on at night. Bad job with the biggest game of your first season fox.
3) I don't think Brandon smith gets enough credit. I know everyone is quietly penciling in Bowen to start over him, but smith just makes plays. I mean every time he was called into action something great happened. He's an instinctual player with a knack for making the big play. Sometimes you need to trust those results and just play the guy and not worry so much about measurables. Not a knock on anyone else, Bowen did a great job last year too. Just that smith has that way of making things happen.
