Unfortunately the game went pretty much like I expected with the exceptions of a few things.
My initial thinking was that we can hang with them for a while but we won't have the horses to stay with them.
I thought that would happen in the 3rd quarter so I was surprised that we stayed with them until mid way int he fourth.
I was shocked to see Lynch and surprised to see Barkley but was flat out amazed at how good Barkley is.
We knew he had ability and potential but he was doing it against some pretty bad defenses. This was tOSU after coming off an injury. He's an absolute BEAST.
I thought Defense would play better but I think I was expecting too much from our young LBR's. I still think we have a very good defense and I love our LB'rs. They will get better and better.
I thought the WR's did well when given the chance but my god our O-line was blown up.
Many of us were lamenting Paris Palmer and how he would get destroyed. He wasn't the biggest problem on the O-line last night. I am now in the camp that has Hand on more of a hot seat than Donovan.
I thought last nights game plan and play calling was pretty good. Not much of the O-line was but they are going against a formidable DLine and probably the best we will see.
We have a few players at a couple positions that need to get their act together, TE, OL and Punting.
There is no excuse for the punting, its flat out pathetic and I'm not sure how much you can blame the defense when they are put into the position they are.
I hope Hack gets into the tub and heals up. I thought they should have used McSorley after the 4th and 2 and tOSU went down the field and scored. Not because Hack was bad but because he was a sitting duck out there.
I know its a tough loss but I came out of it with some hope. I think we can win the MD, Illinois and NW games.
Michy? I put that in the "its possible" since its at home and their QB doesn't have the ability that Barrett does.
MSU I think will be a loss.
