*Joe Lorig's special teams were strong today but twice they had too many on the field in situations, once cost a time out and once Luketa had to book to get off of the field. Headscratcher.

*I've never seen a less talented team play against PS than today - not Coastal Carolina, not Eastern Michigan, not Youngstown State. Pathetic.

*Parsons was quiet today, they did not actively blitz him.

*Jan Johnson had the play of the game today on the 3rd down stop in the 1st possession for Idaho. He fits in with the defense really well, just a valuable player who is not overmatched.

*Franklin said on the Thursday night show that there would be a new wrinkle on offense that would help the way they call the game. The only thing I saw was the sweep action with Hamler and the various plays they could run off of that motion.

*KJ came over to his mom and his grandmom who were seated near me to apologize - he said "grandma, I'm sorry, they won't kick the ball to me" - that kid is something else.

*Team looks good. If the offense can improve - lookout. Stout alone is a significant improvement over anything the team last year had.

I assumed the thing with the offense was the much more uptempo pace we saw. And many more snaps where we didn't have the entire team looking to the sideline. If thay wasn't the wrinkle, then ok. I'll just be glad if they have stopped that, or at least dialed it way back.
