A few thoughts going into tonight's game against Nebraska:
1) I want to see an improved defensive game plan from last time we played them, two weeks ago. Last time we let White go off. Tonight there should be no help off of him. The man who defends him should offer no help on the weakside. I suspect multiple defenders on White to show him different looks.
2) I expect to see this young/improved team show more total focus. I think the last two weeks, while winning, were learning experiences for this team. The effort and focus required on both ends of the floor is needed and I think we will see it tonight.
3) Something I want to see done is for Shep to put their big man in more of a pick and roll/pick and pop defensive rotation. I think we can exploit Nebraska's defesne that way and for Shep to find open shooters. The way Shep has been playing the pick and roll/pick and pop the last two weeks is textbook. I also want to see the ball move crisply tonight. Last game we played them there was too many tipped passes, can't have that.
4) I think Jack and Taylor are going to have to have big games tonight in order for us to secure a win. I want to see Jack continue his progression.
5) Would not be shocked if Reeves saw some time on White tonight.
6) How fun is it to have a meaningful game late into the season? The players and staff are working and getting it done. Win tonight, protect home court, and see where it goes from there. PSU is putting themselves in a spot for postseason play.
