There should be a single online marketplace, similar in function to Amazon, where you can go to shop for healthcare procedures. Until healthcare providers are forced to compete costs will continue to spiral out-of-control. But increasing the demand for services (i.e., Obamacare or Medicare-for-all) is not the solution. In fact, it's going in the wrong direction!

I fear you won't hear a presidential candidate mention this topic because jobs are at stake, particularly in the health insurance industry. Price transparency threatens to cut out the unnecessary middlemen. It's the same reason our byzantine tax code isn't simplified with say, a flat tax rate. Non-value added jobs are at stake (tax attorneys, accountants, etc...).
