Pa has 17. Iowa has a whole 1. In Hawkeye territory there are no pro teams. It's the only game in town. Has Iowa a nc in any sport since 2010?

Puts more pressure on Strittmatter
Keep in my mind that John Strittmatter was a starter for psu, and the coaches are more interested in training the kids to be their best than they are about where their club members choose to go to college. So many western PA kids wrestle at YG that there is enough top talent to populate multiple D1 rosters and they support all of them. Jody is rightfully proud to be a Hawkeye but YG not some brainwashing re-education adversary to Cael’s NC pipeline. They embrace it. It’s their job.

Illinois had 8 AAs, which I thought was a decent showing for them. I have always thought we should do better because of the way we dominate in freestyle and Greco, but it does not translate that well into folk style D1 success. Maybe Ohio and Jersey topped us? Not sure about CA.
I would love to get the numbers of the top 5 or 10..

No Pro Sports teams but in addition to wrestling Iowa is the Mecca for Sprint Car Racing at Knoxville. Likewise PA in addition to being the best HS wrestling state is also arguably the top Sprint car state in the country. Especially Central PA.
Iowa is not the Mecca of sprint car racing. Yes, the Knoxville Nationals is the nation’s premier sprint car race but PA most certainly is the Mecca. We have many more sprint car tracks in central PA than Iowa has state wide.

Used2BEerie: You misinterpreted the point of the thread. It's about AA's by state, not by college.

Every year at this time PA people can come on line and pound our chests because we have the most qualifiers and the most All-Americans. That's been true pretty much every year since about 1990. (I used to keep track of such things, but now not so much.)

One of my favorite nights at PIAA states was in '88 I think. States and nationals were both on at the same time. And every few minutes the announcer at Hershey Arena would announce another PA national champ. Pennsylvania pretty much dominated college wrestling thereafter.
Jack Cuvo, Jim Martin, Pat Santoro, Scott Turner, Rob Koll, Carelton Haselrig --- champions all.

There was a gentleman from Haymarket, VA that did NCAA Facts every season until he passed away several years ago. Last one was 2017. They contained a wealth of information, including the home states of wrestlers. The document was about 18 pages long, and there's nothing else like it anywhere.

Just staying vigilant. Same thing Hawk fans would do if, let’s say, Q set up shop in Cedar Rapids, club colors were blue and white, and had annual bus trips to Rec Hall
