Announced as 107,572. My guess is that ACTUAL was 100,000 or so based on shots of the stadium. Some empty seats. Not too much to dispute.

On the other hand.......Pitt announced attendance as 33,052 which is total bullshit. I watched their game and Heinz Field looked like more empty seats than occupied seats......easily. Possibly less than 20,000. Of course I'm not counting the "no shows", vendors, the Pitt band, security personnel, ground crew, clean-up staff, and parking lot attendants like The Pitt PR staff does.

How embarrassing to die hard Pitt fans to witness that. After Pitt loses on the road to Syracuse next week, the next home game attendance should be stunning.

It was pretty full. 105k I'd say.

Do you at least charge Pitt for the space they occupy in your mind?

Yea that 107,502 was some creative counting.
I was guessing in the 102,000+ area.
Upper North Deck was pretty full, although my row had a lot of empty seats.
Which was fortunate since the guy 3 seats to my right blew his tailgate all over the empty space at the start of the game.
Middle section of the south deck had a lot of empty seats.
Still a good showing but I thought the crowd was dead.
Maybe because of the 28-0 start.

No but you'd be better suited to accommodate Pitt since you have so much unused space. Now run along Gomer.

Middle section of the south deck is the club. There were lots of people in the club who never went into the stands - probably because you couldn't take beer out to your seats. The club was pretty full for the whole game. And the lines to get into the club outside the stadium were very long. I'm pretty sure the club seats were 99% sold.

Empty part of Stadium looked like Student Section. That's not unusual.

Pitt also counts anyone walking or driving past the stadium on the other side of the river for 2 days before and after their games as attendees.

The student section was full by the end of the 1st quarter, but they have no assigned seats, nor the fat arses of the rest of the fan base, so they squeeze down closer to the field.
Agree. Instead of 15 they get 20 per row.
I'm pretty sure that the higher parts of EA and B are for stadium and parking attendants.

Students have assigned seats. And there were a few thousand no-shows yesterday, but those that were there spread out as the game went along to make it look more full than it was.

No they do not. I stand just above them in ADA area in south end zone and they cram in there wherever they want to sit

As far as I know students know longer have assigned seats.
Never liked that idea. I had awesome seats as a jr and sr.

Quite the opposite they expand to give themselves more rooms and get their whole groups together if you literally want at times they are walking up just to Lounge out. The parking attendants have spaces dedicated to where they could sit through out the stadium

Some may try cramming where they don't belong, but they definitely have a ticket with an assigned seat.

If they have assigned seats, why does each section in the student seating area fill up from the bottom to the top? That would imply they are somehow entering the stadium in row number order. Are you sure it's not an assigned section?

Because they are given their ticket as they come thru the gate, and they are distributed from bottom to top.

It looked close to the stated attendance to me.
What shocked me was the GA St attemdance.

Probably not 107k, but save for the middle deck on the south end zone and the upper corner of visitor section, it was full. So, 102-103k minimum.

The student section eventually filled up but not till early 2nd quarter and by time the 4th quarter rolled around it was emptying back out. Underwhelming showing by students.

Yeah that gets explained every week. However the same people will bitch about it next home game anyway.

so wait....were we a Pitt home game attendance away from a sellout at Beaver Stadium? Is that what we're saying here?
