The last play call was absolutely odd, no doubt. The two point conversion was absolutely odd, no doubt. Going for it vs. taking a FG attempt, questionable, but not a deal breaker. Fumbling at our own 30, no bueno. Dropsies, once again, no bueno. Tackling when you need it most but end up looking like keystone cops two drives in a row, killer.
We had a 12 point lead with 8 minutes left and mad momentum until the bitter end but the same two stupid screen plays beat us over and over and over. Our inability to defend and tackle them was the ultimate devastation. As was our inability to make touchdowns instead of FG’s in the first half. That’s a recipe for a problem.
So the last play was awful, but we didn’t do what we needed to to not be in that position. We were the better team most of the game tonight but just couldn’t finish.
