Why hasn't Corman been fired by his constituents? People bitch about politicians all the time. They then return the incumbent because everyone else's representative is the problem, not their politician.I know the Legislature must push BOT reform but....
I've generally been supportive of Wolf - I think his plans to address fiscal issues was very good but alas no one could see the vision.
However, on this issue I have issues with him - he could certainly send a message that the PSU BOT reform is important to him and has not.
He can think its not a big deal but it will affect his election (or lack thereof) next time. Unfortunately for him Corman can play a different game and get away with it because of the position he holds - but Wolf cannot.
EPC......are you "local" (to Central PA)Why hasn't Corman been fired by his constituents? People bitch about politicians all the time. They then return the incumbent because everyone else's representative is the problem, not their politician.

If you are, I think you can answer your own queries wrt Corman.......if not, then there is a lot we could discuss (for hours), but suffice it to say the reasons are the ones we see most often in these situations:
1 - $$$$$$$
2 - Self-interest
3 - $$$$$$$
4 - Voter apathy
5 - $$$$$$$
6 - Voter ignorance
7 - $$$$$$$
8 - Self-interest (again)
9 - $$$$$$$
oh.....and, also......
10 - $$$$$$$$$
Cornie was a huge disappointment for all Penn Staters.
- Some of us knew what to expect - who we were dealing with - before this all went down
- A few more "found out" as events transpired
- Most are still oblivious (or conflicted by their self-interests)
Alas
Paul Silvis ran for an Alumni Trustee seat and lost. He was subsequently appointed by Gov Corbett but in actuality Silvis had the support of Sen Corman.
Paul's undoing occurred at the March, 2016 meeting in Hershey during which he distributed copies of the book "Wounded Lion."
Interestingly, Paul believed the Board was too large at 32 members and felt it should be cut in half. Ira Lubert concurred.
Of course we know governance is not a priority for some on the Board but rather control. Hence the Board grew to 38 members.
Personally, I have no respect for Mr. Silvis. He referred to me as a Paterno worshiper when we first met in March, 2012. He said Joe Paterno gets too much credit for the success of Penn State. He participated in the effort to smear me in the Phila Inquirer in April, 3012.
His departure from the Board enhances the intellectual capacity of the body.

One thing I've learned in this whole mess is that nobody in Pennsylvania politics is as they appear. I won't be fooled any longer. If Corman runs for statewide office, I plan to do whatever I can to derail that effort. I assume most Penn Staters will. Same with some of the others. They showed their true colors, probably earlier than they might have wanted. Hopefully it will come back to bite them in the ass someday.
As for my personal future, I plan to make it a retirement project to personally visit the graves of all of these losers as they succumb, and piss on them for my own enjoyment. It will give me something to do with my spare time, and it will afford me great pleasure. Let's hope I don't ever go into renal failure before I have the opportunity to do this.
Damn you Silvis and your time machine too
Drink plenty of water before each grave visit, you need to have a full bladder when you get there

I wouldn't give them a gift of even second-hand boilo.Plenty, plenty of water. And maybe some boilo!
Gee, that sound a Cheeto with straw yellow hair.Very telling that being afforded the proper "credit" is something very near and dear, if not paramount in the minds of some on the board, not that this comes as any surprise but it is definitely a common theme. If some of these people don't get stroked often enough I think they'd keel over. What a bunch of mirror-kissers. Maybe you should propose at the next meeting that everybody gets a "like" button.
