goofers saw their shadow today and decided not to wrestler for another 6 weeks....ouch

PS for WT - Shame the weather is soooo bad in the mid west that more people didnt see it live........

If the CHA had yellow seats the fans would have looked just like Pitt fans at Heinz Field.

Spencer is quite impressive.
I was also impressed with Marinelli tonight. He physicaled the Minnesota kid until he broke him.

Lee isn't going to lose the rest of the season. Sorenson had another boring pin. Marinelli will run into a wall against Joseph.

Lee is unreal on top. But I think he will lose on his feet to NATO in a rematch (unfortunately).

I also think suriano will beat him if they meet. As imo he’s better on his feet right now

I have not seen Sorensen this year at all, but he seems to be having a really good year. Did he close the gap on Zain? Marinelli just keeps winning. Lee definitely benefitting from the best lightweight room in the world.:)

No... possibly more shots 2 than rest year combined. Lee is all world... define lightweights.

No one closes the gap against Zain. But Sorenson has definitely upped his game this year.

You don't hand fight Cenzo into submission. My guess is Marinelli will not submitt to any particular aspect of Cenzo nor IMar, but he lacks the buzzsaw offense he would need to go toe to toe with either one.

I was just noting he (Marinelli) wrestled hard and was relentless in pounding Waznek until he literally broke the kid.

I think Suranio and Tomasello can beat Lee from the neutral position, but I do not believe they win neutral as a default.
The matches between the three of them will be entertaining as hell.
I am unsure if Cruz can wrestle with those three or not. I have my doubts but my doubts have reservations.

If you squint & roll a pigskin across the mat at CHA, you’ll swear you’re watching Pitt football in Heinz play Youngstown State

Cruz will be no match against Suriano or Lee.

I believe Happel was attempting the inside trip and Thorn tried to counter by tossing him. Didn't work.
Agreed, I thought Thorn threw himself on his back. He should have backed out and the win was in the bag.

not the best video, but you can see it barely on the video board. not all sources of info are equal, look for a retraction in tomorrows edition.

I think Lee will ride Suriano like a blanket! should be a very good match

I’m hoping Spencer wins bigs placing Tomasello as potentially 4 or 5 seed.
As of today, HELL NO. This is the worst case scenario, unless Fausz or Piccininni will beat Nato in the quarters.

The goal is NCAAs. Cruz will be undefeated, so he will be the #1 seed -- unless there is an undefeated B10
champ (who would have a strength of schedule edge) -- Cruiseliner Nick is the only candidate left.

We do not want a Cruz-Nato semi. But we will get it if:
(A) Lee wins B10s: seeds = 1 Cruz, 2 Lee, 3 Jerz, 4 Nato.
(B) Jerz beats Nato at B10 finals: seeds = 1 Jerz, 2 Cruz, 3 Nato, 4 Lee.

Better options:
(C) Jerz beats Lee at B10 finals: seeds = 1 Jerz, 2 Cruz, 3 Lee, 4 Nato.
(D) Nato wins B10s: seeds = 1 Cruz, 2 Nato, 3 Jerz, 4 Lee.

Caveat: if Fausz beats Tomasello in the 2/18 dual, then
(A) is uncertain. If Nato drops to 5, no real change. If he drops to 6 behind Fausz and Piccininni, it's now OK.
(B) now looks OK: seeds = 1 Jerz, 2 Cruz, 3 Fausz, 4 Nato, 5 Lee.
(C) is still good if Nato stays ahead of Piccininni; if not, yuck.
(D) is really hard to tell. I'm having a real hard time justifying Fausz ahead of Jerz, but can also see the seeding committee doing something screwy.

If something else happens -- Rivera beats Cruiseliner Nick at B10 semis (which almost happened at Midlands), or Nato somehow loses to Mattin or Welch at B10 quarters -- too complicated to think about yet.

Why don't we want a Cruz/Nato semi? I think Nato's path is going to be tough regardless.

Is there a legit chance they don't give an undefeated returning champ the number 1 seed? I just assumed Cruz would be the 1 and then 2-4 depends on how they place at B1Gs (unless 1 of them takes 4th or worse)

Seriously doubt it. The only time it has hapoened in recent memory was Snyder's first year at HWT, when he was only 11-0 after B10s. He was seeded #2 behind Gwiz.

Imo he’ll have to take top to do it as I’m not sure Suriano will take bottom

Certainly hope to see them go at it.

TKFR (The Kid From Rutgers) got out from the bottom against Gilman fairly easily last year.

Snyder's first year at heavyweight he wasn't defending champion.

True, though previous years' results aren't supposed to count toward current year seeding.

The reason was because Snyder had wrestled something like 6 matches before nationals, with only 1 good opponent (Coon). And he wasn't a known commodity at HWT.

On second thought though, maybe not the best example -- Gwiz was undefeated that year as well. (I misread the NCAA brackets -- forgot that NCAA puts final W-L records on the brackets instead of entering W-L records .)

Devin Carter once got the 4 seed while undefeated -- but he missed over half the year with injury, I think was something like 12-0 headed into nationals -- plus Mitchell Port was the unbeaten 1. 2 and 3 were Stieber and Zain.

The obvious recent examples of an undefeated top seed who was an underdog to win the title: Port (Stieber won) and Sheptock (Ruth won).
