Hi, everyone. My family cut the cable cord about six months ago. We haven’t missed it.

But with football season coming, I’d like to get a streaming TV service so I can get games on ESPN, B1G, FS1, NFL, etc.

I already have NFL Sunday Ticket streaming, but national Eagles games are blacked out on it.

I would also like to avoid a one- or two-year contract. Direct TV streaming seems to require this. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I use YouTubeTV and like it a lot. Good channel selection.

I dropped them when they started double billing me. I'm still trying to get rid of one of the charges. Right now I don't really have a stream option like Utube. I will probably get Hulu at the end of the month and keep through college BB season.

Hulu works really well. And ustvgo is very solid, but some channels require a VPN to watch, but you can cast them to your TV from your phone.

I use AT&T TV....streaming version. It is great....I also have ESPN plus for the UFC fights and it carries a lot of extra football games I like...to include FCS games.
Let me ask...how did you get the streaming version of NFL Sunday ticket. Thanks in advance

Funny…I entered my zip code years ago when it first launched. It told me I was eligible and I’ve let it auto renew untouched since.

I know it’s not available in some parts of the country. Check the link below to see if you can get it.

God forbid you don't know about Clifford's interception until 30 seconds later than the people paying $150 more per month for cable packages.
It was enough for me to go back to cable for the 4 months of the year when sports matter. To each his own.

YouTube TV covers most of my needs. BTN, ESPN, FS1, FS2, NBC Sports, MLB, NFL....etc. I believe you are an EPL fan, so you may want to also sign up for Peacock.
Good suggestion. Living in CA, I rarely see Prem matches anymore. It’s too damned early!

Unlimited DVR with YouTube. Peacock I think I had to watch live, but it was available afterwards too if I remember correctly.

I enjoy YouTubeTV well enough that I’m not getting rid of it, but I’ve been annoyed by two price increases in the past two years, while losing some channels (notably the regional sports channels, so I don’t get all the Reds, Indians, Blue Jackets, Cavs games I once did). The only other channel it’s missing that bothers me is History Channel.

Unlimited DVR is great though. And I like having on every TV in my house being as simple as having a Roku stick in every TV (though I think Google and Roku are in a fight and it might not be available on Roku right now unless you were grandfathered in).

Well….the delay requires a person to let everyone know you are 30-60 seconds behind because text messages come in BEFORE you see it happen. And I mean EVERYONE….

That part is a huge pain. So I have to bury the phone or turn it off entirely.

It's annoying that these "new" alternatives like Youtube TV and Hulu have the same problems as cable in that in order to get these 5-10 channels that you want you have to get these other 50-60 channels that you don't want.
Streaming prices keep going up as well, just like cable/satellite and they are not going to stop..

I have AT&T Now and YouTube. The AT&T Now often sends a message I am streaming too many devices when I only have 1 TV on. Also the streaming often breaks and needs refreshed. It is difficult to contact any customer service for help with the AT&T problems.

I had to stop with DirecTV when I moved and didn’t have a sight line…so switched to streaming and now AT&T stream.
Gotta say…despite the occasional weather probs of the DirecTV dish, that picture was far superior to any stream I’ve seen.

debating cutting trees to have it back.

A problem I had with delay in the past is when the people living below me had cable and were getting the play instantly and they' whoop and yell when big play was happening, which I wasn't going to see until about 30 seconds later. It's kinda ruined the suspense.

We have YoutubeTV as well. Seems like a good choice. Plus you can share it with others to split the bill.
Two questions about Youtube TV
  1. Do you get local news channels?
  2. If you go away can you change your location and get the local news channels there?

Yeah. I’m on a family text thread during Eagles games. Same thing.

I really like YouTubeTV, but their (Google's) operating system is a bit weird for a couple of reasons

1) You need a mobile device, not connected to your TV, to sort / prioritize / delete stations. That functionality can't be done using YTTV via a FireStick or other device. It can only be done from their App 🤷‍♂️

2) Periodically during the year, usually around the first day of certain months, YTTV won't work and requires you to reauthenticate your subscription. This might not happen to other users, but it does to me 2-3x per annum. I suspect it might be because I refuse to sign up for any "cloud services" with Google.

1. Yes
2. Yes, you get local stations based on your current location
