Akron beats northwestern.

Great comeback win by Akron but geez, I'd love to know what Toupee George Costanza was thinking by having his QB huck the ball down the field on 4th down from his own 30 with :07 left and keeping :02 on the clock when it fell incomplete. That gave NW a real decent look at a game-winning throw.

That was perplexing.

fitz is the worst actual coach in the BIG

Man, it’s gotta be Ash or Lovie Smith, right? Fitz has put together some solid teams, went 10-3 two of the past three years, and has even knocked off PSU a couple of times. And it’s not like NW is a bastion of talent either

I’m referring to actual game day coaching. He’s good as the head of the program but leaves much to be desired on Saturdays imo

I'm happy for Terry Bowden -- he is one of the good guys in college football.

For Fitz, losing to Duke and Akron on consecutive weeks -- that's a bad stretch.

I've said this before -- it is just a mistake for Fitz to try to run a pro-style offense with big, immobile quarterbacks. You have to have an overpowering O-line to pull it off, and almost nobody can produce a big overpowering O-line.

Thorson makes bad decisions when he gets pressured in the pocket. Lost a fumble for a TD and threw two pick-sixes. I have never quite understood the hype about that guy.

NW doesn't need a 6-4 statue back there because they can't protect him. They need mobile QBs like they used to have.

Just because someone said it doesn't mean true.

Might not happen to us.. but it did happen to Wisconsin just last year. 12-1, close loss to OSU, no playoff. Heck, our history shows 5 undefeated seasons that didn't result in a national title. In 2005, Texas beat Ohio State and went on to play in the national title game. If we the outcome is reversed, we likely play in the title game. Luckily, no matter who you root for, it doesn't effect the outcome.
