ND is the #5 pass D in CFB (167.4 ypg). Was surprised we've already played 3 of the top 10.

#1 OSU (152.4)
#4 Washington (166.5)
#10 Minnesota (176.1)

I think we win by two scores if we get stat lines that look like Minnesota or Washington.

And that one pick should be a TD lol

The crappy kid from Georgia had 225 1 TD 0 INT on 62.5%. I don't think Drew is key if Singleton/Allen have a good game. If he has a Minnesota/Washington game, we might be up by multiple scores in the second half.

Stockton has one hell of an arm--just wasn't ready for the moment
He needs to put on some weight too but that kid has some potential--he has 300 yards without the drops

Gunner Stockton was a highly rated recruit, is a junior, and had a really nice game against ND.

That is only one way to judge a Pass Defense.... Completion Percentage is another way to judge a Pass Defense's dominance and effectiveness - ND leads the nation by several percentage points at 50.6% - duhO$U, who leads nation in Passing Defense YPG, is 56th in Completion % allowing opponents to complete 60% of their passes. ND also has 18 INTs (tied for 4th in nation w/ PSU coincidentally) - duhO$U is like 75th with only 9 INTs.

I think ND has the best Pass Defense in the nation based on all the stats.... and pretty easily so imo.

looked great giving up 360 yards to usc and 260 and 3 tds to Louisville.

Who else did they play with a decent passing offense with their starting qb?

No. They don't. Ohio State has the best defense in the game, and Penn State is just as close to them as Notre Dame.

No actually the best way to judge it is yards and TDs given up. But obviously you know better.

Cherry picking the 'worst' stats doesn't prove your point or define a defense as a whole. How did we do vs BGSU as a pass defense, or Oregon or BSU? The latter of which threw for 300 yds despite our D totally shutting down Jeanty.

As an aggregate, both PSU and NDs body of work spells out very good defenses, with some warts here and there. Amazing the sheer amount of disrespect people on here give our opponents when JF hasn't won a game of this magnitude with these kind of high stakes since 2016.

Apparently ND is pretty pedestrian for many on here. Not to mention, they have a handful of starters out. If we don't win, I wonder what the excuses will be this time.

His OL wasn’t ready for the moment. With horrible protection and some key drops I thought he played pretty well.

I think some would prefer to call it for what it is rather than overblow ND. Their schedule was pretty weak, particularly on passing teams. That's not disrespect, that's analysis. Bringing up BG is the same as NIU (I've seen few if any mentions of NIU here). It's games we both took for granted. Underdogs why played above their head. 12 games ago. Ancient history.

Bring up Minnesota. That's more recent. ND plays similar to them with better talent.

I think this game depends a lot more on which version of us shows up than anything.

Well said...agreed.

It's worth mentioning that ND lost to NIU and we didn't lose to Bowling Green.

It was his first career start, his OL has been suspect all season and his WR's drop more passes than any other team.
I was only addressing the comment calling Stockton crappy. He played well against ND, had good stats, and there was the drop on the deep ball to #86.

His ball on the 4th and 13 pass interference was under-thrown, maybe a little off on a 4th down fade on the same drive. Other than that, he was pretty good.

Those were some great plays by Allar to Warren against Boise State (the first two TD’s). That’s a serious challenge for ND.
