Allen Brown

That's too bad, Allen has been a die hard wrestling fan for many years. I think he is part owner of wresting report.

I read Allen all the time on the Wrestling Report. That's too bad. I will keep him in my prayers.

Also, I thought Bruce Closson owned WR. I did not realize Allen also was an owner.

Allen was also a valued contributor to TheOpenMat, often moderating live blogs of East Coast duals.

Prayers and well-wishes from me too. Many of you long-timers may know him as StovePipe, he's posted on many forums over the years.

I don't know Allen but recognize the moniker "StovePipe". Prayers sent for a "quick turn" and a full recovery.

Sounds like he passed away last night per Wrestling Report. sad news

Unfortunately, they've posted that he passed away at 10:07 on Tuesday night.

This hits hard. I never met Stove Pipe, but I conversed with him in hundreds of chats -- mostly chats he hosted for PSU duals. We had somewhat of a joke between us, as Pipe would always say something if Kessel was reffing the PSU dual (he was not a big fan of his, at least when he was doing PSU duals). Sometimes I knew Kessel was the ref, and would innocently ask who was reffing, to which Pipe would give a predictable response.

If you spent any time on the national recruiting boards/sites, you couldn't help but be amazed at Pipe's knowledge of the rosters of pretty much all wrestling teams on the East Coast (regardless of division).

There are other folks that are great ambassadors of college wrestling, and provide info to the masses on national sites (and on team-specific sites, at times). That said, there's not a huge number of them, and few of them have a long-time track record of providing the amount, or the quality, of info that Pipe provided.

All wrestlers, wrestling coaches, and wrestling fans suffered a loss with his unexpected passing.

My prayers go out to his family and friends.

I thought I read that he was a financial investor in Wrestling Report. He was definitely a mod.

The first time I started posting anywhere was in the PSU section of Westling Report and he was probable one of the first persons I ever talked wrestling with online. RIP Allen.

anyone in the know with the PSWC or NLWC if they will accept donations in his honor as the obit requests? He was a great guy and deserves the recognition from this guy. Thanks in advance.
Hi dunk,
I know a little about the PSWC and the NLWC. Is there an easy way to get in touch with you without either of us publicly posting an email address or phone number? Some forums have Private Messaging, but don't see that here.
