An update:

Went to the ENT specialist yesterday for another shot in the ear. I told them I had been hearing great out of it for the last week and a half. They tested my hearing and sure enough it is almost completely back. They said the shot in the ear was now just optional, so I declined it. They also said whether I got the shot in the ear or not they were going to give me a slow releasing low dose steroid shot (lasts 6-8 weeks). So, I drop my pants, bend over, and get the shot in my right buttock, to which my daughter found quite amusing. Another appointment in a month, and hopefully they take the tube out of my ear.
