I have read about half of the OIG report on McCabe's lies. ttps://www.scribd.com/document/376298359/DOJ-IG-releases-explosive-report-that-led-to-firing-of-ex-FBI-Deputy-Director-Andrew-McCabe#from_embed
McCabe is an amazingly blatant liar. For instance,
" Also according to INSD-SSAl's contemporaneous notes [May 9, 2017] and testimony to the OIG, McCabe told them that he had "no idea where it[leak of Wall Street Journal 10/30/16 article that was highly contentious] came from," that was "who the source was" who disclosed the account of his August 12 call with PADAG to the WSJ." p.16 of report
******** then later on p. 17 McCabe lies and changes his story:
"During his OIG interview on November 29, 2017, McCabe provided a very
different account of his interactions with INSD on May 9. Specifically, McCabe told
the OIG that the INSD agents "must have" gotten it wrong when they wrote in the
draft SSS that he told them on May 9 that he did not authorize the conversation
and that he did not know who the source was. McCabe said that he did not believe
he told INSD that he did not authorize the disclosure, but added "I don't remember
what I said to them." He added "I don't remember discussing authorization of that
article" with INSD and that "the INSD folks and I walked away from that, from that
exchange with a difference in understanding."
**********
There are other major lies well documented in the report, misleadingly called "lack of candor" when lack of candor under OIG definition is "[k]nowingly providing false information in a verbal or written statement made under oath." OIG found lack of candor both under oath and not under oath.
In any event, McCabe's obvious lies are documented for everyone to see, but he meets CNN "standards" as a contributor.
