With coach Will Wade suspended and standout Javonte Smart sidelined in connection with the FBI's massive investigation of college basketball, fans screamed, "F--- Alleva!" as the athletic director walked to his seat for the 80-59 win that clinched the SEC title for the Tigers.

They harmonized with the band and made up songs to call for Alleva's ouster, too. They turned a chant from the "Wizard of Oz" (oh-we-oh) into "A-LLE-VA AHHH-Leeva sucks!"

Fans held up "Free Will Wade" signs and chanted, "Free Javonte!" throughout the game.

The LSU "culture" was encouraged by Emmert who when he was the university president said, "Simply put, success in LSU football is essential for the success of Louisiana State University." No doubt this thinking applied to other sports as well.

He was probably right. It sure isn't about education, so it must be about football.

After one year at LSU, Emmert and his new football coach, Saban had the number one ranked football recruiting class after years of lackadaisical efforts on and off the field. Who can explain this meteoric rise? While I cannot prove it, I suspect.............mischief.
