We went to the Cactus Bowl tonight decked out in our PSU gear. We had a couple of people say “We Are” along the way in and had a nice chat with an Iowa fan. Then we got to our seats...

First thing I hear is a K-State fan, a couple of seats down from us, say under his breath “Sandusky’s here”. Ugh.

I took the high road. Didn’t reply. As a wise man once said, “Never get into a pissing contest with a skunk”.

Just goes to show that ignorant fans will always be around and we are going to have to deal with it.

I was really hoping for a UCLA win tonight after that. Oh well.

I love to call out people like that. I'd have gone up to the guy and said, "Sandusky is here? Where? I have some choice words for that guy." The K State idiot would likely have had no reply.

The ridiculous thing is how people like that act outraged yet have no problem using child abuse to try to get a laugh.

you handled it correctly. PSU class

Small-time.
It's easy to see they're small time. For years many writers and talking heads talked about how the game has passed Paterno by and he was too old. Nobody says that about Snyder because no one really gives a sh!t. And his results the last five years have been pretty mediocre. Now he seems to be holding the program hostage until his son can take over and no one is up on their high horse about that. But again, it's because it's K State and nobody cares.

I had someone do that to me on a cruise a few years ago. It actually ended up she was just a professional smartass and actually ended up being pretty cool. We had drinks with her group several nights that week, even watched the Superbowl (which, as I found out, a cruise ship is probably the last place you want to watch the Super Bowl)

I got into it on Twitter with a K-state fan after the sanctions hit. He was volatile and of course knew none of the facts. They definitely are envious of Joe even though Snyder still thinks highly of Joe. We as PSU alumn/fans have to remember that these “fans” are a small representative of the fan base and can not judge other KSU fans based on a few dopes.

My reply would have been "Oh look, Kevin Yaussi's here." Chances are even he/she doesn't know who that is and would need to be educated. Point being that every mid-sized to large university has someone that shames their alma mater. Whether it be academic staff (James Cavalcoli, Kevin Yaussi), athletic staff (Nassar, JS) or alumni (Bill Cosby). We live in a sick society and unfortunately there are sexual predators everywhere. Glass houses!

And yes, we can thank the OGBOTs in their (mis)handling of the situation along with the vulture media for making PSU the poster child for sexual abuse.

Geez, I guess in a state such as Kansas we're in the same company as say, Charles Darwin. I'll take it, thank you.

I have a PSU lion license plate on the front of both vehicles. When we go out shopping or whatever at least two of us have PSU shirts or sweatshirts on. On football Saturdays I hang a Penn State flag outside my house. I live in Florida, my job requires me to travel all over the place. Not once have I had anything said to me or my family about our PSU gear. Actually the only thing I ever hear about is from PSU transplants down here. I always thought that stories like the op's were myths. Maybe I'm not running into the right scumbags. Funny story, my wife was parked at work and came out to a piece of paper shoved under the windshield wiper...it had written on it " WE ARE" .

Oh, they're out there. But, for the most part your experience is typical.

Watched a SB on the cruise and totally agree with you. We actually snatched 2 decent seats so we could see the action, but it's hard to really cheer because the room is split and one person's cheer is another's boo. Thought we might actually see an up close fight at one point. Rather not do that one again, lol. [Nothing quite like starting a long cruise with hostilities in open view. ugh.]

Try living in Columbus, Ohio and doing that. I bet your experience would be different.
