Anjem Choudary was a lawyer and explicit supporter of terrorism in Great Britain. He was born in England of Pakistani parents. After many years of public support for terrorism he was convicted under Britain's anti-terrorist law. He was even videotaped giving an interview where he stated that Pam Geller deserved to die for sponsoring a Muhammad cartoon contest. (which resulted in very tame cartoons). He received a sentence of 5.5 years under Britain's anti-terrorist laws. Was recently released (to extensive probation) after serving about half of the sentence.
People who tried to de-radicalize him have described his current beliefs this way:
"Fiyaz Mughal, head of anti-extremist group Faith Matters, has discussed Choudary with the imam who was brought into prison to try to de-radicalise him.
He said: "Choudary was put in containment that stops him engaging with other prisoners, but also given pastoral care to see if they could get through to him.
"I asked the guy who spoke to him if the de-radicalisation programme had worked and he said, 'No, he's got worse. He's hardened'." https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7531943/anjem-choudary-released-from-prison-early-morning-hours/
Simply more of the wonderful contributions that practicing Muslims bring to Western societies.
