Check out the sequence from roughly 1:18-1:30 where he makes two blocks on the same play. Otherwise, he looks like he will be ready to compete coming out of the blocks next summer. He has good feet and finishes off plays with a nasty streak. He and Jaquan Brisker will have an impact in 2019. Brisker is a bruiser!

Both may start. Brisker for sure.

Brisker plays a super physical style of football. He should be used in an occasional blitz package if his results from Lackawanna are any indication. If his coverage skills are anything like his tackling ability, he is going to be a beast!

The Falcons are playing in the El Toro bowl on December 1st. I'm not sure how to watch that one but it would be worth a look.

Penn State safety commit wins NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week, leads team to perfect record

Penn State recruiting has had a huge uptick over the last few years.

This is thanks to coach James Franklin, of course, but it speaks to the program as a whole as well. The Nittany Lions may not reach the Big Ten Championship game this season, or the College Football Playoff. But, the program is on the way up.

One of its commits for the 2019 season, Jaquan Brisker — a 6-foot-2 safety at Lackawanna Community College — had a monstrous game to cap off the team’s regular season. With his performance, not only did he earn NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week honors, but his team concluded its regular season with a perfect record.

Brisker, as mentioned in the tweet, ended up with 7 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and a forced fumble in the win.

If he does that on Saturdays for the Nittany Lions, everyone — except for Penn State opponents — will be happy.

I'd love to have a dominate safety and Brisker may be the guy I've been hoping for. I was amazed how a guy like Polamalu could literally change a game from the safety position. Sutherland reminds me of him with the hair bouncing around all over the field. The safety position is looking good for the future

Falcons Will Finish Out The Undefeated Season In Arizona At The El Toro Bowl

POSTED 6:48 PM, NOVEMBER 19, 2018, BY STEVE LLOYD

Lackawanna Falcons football

"It's nice to be indoors a good hour and a half practice let's go," said Duda.

Inside the Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton the 6th ranked and (10-0) Lackawanna College Falcons football team goes through a few final practices before the December 1st game against Arizona Western college in the El Toro Bowl in Yuma Arizona.

"Kids play hard every single day and now we get to go out to play against a quality team out there. Whenever you go to Arizona to play Glendale and some of those other teams and now of course we are going out to play Arizona Western who was playing for a national championship the last two years so they are a quality football team as well and we are looking forward to it," said Mark Duda.

There are still a few things in play as the Falcons finish out this season, safety Jaquan Brisker could be up for JUCO defensive player of the year, and with a win over Arizona Western the Falcons could get their first 11 win season in program history.

"What it means to play this game it means the most to me the most to us actually. The beginning of the year we all called this. We said that we we're going to be undefeated and we ended up being undefeated and we made it to a bowl game so we are very excited. We can't wait," said Jaquan Brisker.

With an emphasis on better scheduling and increased competition it hasn't hurt the Falcons on field performance. The offense is averaging 40 points per game and the defense only allowing 12.

"Definitely some pretty good teams in this division, for example we played ASA College and we had a thriller up here at home against them and we had Georgia Military they we're pretty good. We had a lot of good teams that we played this season," said Savion Williams.

This is the 11th bowl trip for Coach Duda in his 25 seasons of coaching Lackawanna College. Steve Lloyd reporting for Newswatch 16 sports from Lackawanna County.

Any idea if this will be televised? I have serious doubts that it will be but wouldn't it be fun if it were!

Still no answer. Questions?
You obviously missed the point of my original question. I was asking whether he, as a player, could teach his fellow and future PSU teammates....”how to tackle”....a fundamental skill clearly untaught on the 2018 PSU roster.

If you require further explanation, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Great. What techniques would you suggest the coaches teach differently than what they are teaching now?
Ummmm.. The Fundamentals of Tackling?

The painfully-apparent problem is that this coaching staff doesn’t feel the need to coach and reinforce football fundamentals as simple as “tackling”. That was apparent in game #1 and has gone unaddressed by the “$4.5 MM Emperor in Charge”

Got it. But our tackling was fine last year when we had Grant Haley, Marcus Allen, and Jason Cabinda. Who coached them?

Peetz Pool Boy is gone......like your uncle with dementia, used to be a good man.......but the sickness it has taken over......

Whighan and Brisker look like two that could play right away........not getting as much attention as some of the other players, but could help out PSU even next year.

I luv you too....GreggK (aka Sandinista!). I never realized you had 3 BWI names....now we all know. :)

Perhaps we should go back and do a 4 or 5 year retrospective analysis of each of those players and their positional coaches? Who knows what we might uncover, if anything.

It might turn out that PSU misses Shoop more that Bob’s wife missed the “South”.

All I know is that someone on staff is allowing (encouraging?) the defensive players to arm/body tackle instead initiating contact and aggressively tackling opponents. Terry Smith?

Something or someone has changed.

Go back and watch film when the three I mentioned above were sophomores and you'll find the answer you are looking for.

Do you have a link to such footage? I am admittedly lazy and won’t even bother to search the 2015 archives for these “video clues” you are advising me to “uncover”

Exactly. So I'll just ask Brisker if he can teach the team how to tackle when I see him later this week and get back to you.

So why were former PSU teams capable and eagerly willing to tackle when the 2018 edition is so woefully averse at same?

This is your opportunity to have a profound impact on this board. I’m opening a proverbial door for you...

Clearly it was because they had the likes of someone of your coaching prowess or a teammate that could teach them how to tackle.

You really didn't have to go to the effort of “double quoting” me in order to truthfully avoid my question. :)
