Antonio Brown requests trade

The Steelers aren’t going to trade him. They’d be left with $20M in dead cap space next year if they trade or cut him.

Agree. And at 31 next year and his reputation, he is not going to get a first round pick in return. He can sit out like Bell if he doesn’t want to play for the Steelers. His contract is at market, and he is not looking for more money, so he really has no leverage with the big cap hit.

Yeah, not sure I really agree that he wouldn’t fetch a first round pick.. was a top ten receiver in terms of yards this year. Also led the league in receiving TDS. Receivers have longer careers than running backs

The Raiders got a first round pick for Cooper. That says it all.

No, it doesnt. Cooper is 24 and with the tags, the Cowboys have his rights for about three years, with 1.5 of them still being on a rookie deal. He also vaulted them into the playoffs.

We're talking about a 31 year old with a big time cap hit vs. a 24 year old with a modest cap hit, who wasn't actively obstructing the team's success.

We're talking about the best receiver in the league under contract through 2020. I understand the cap hit next year but 2 receivers and the running back are still on their rookie contract so they can eat it for one year. He's not worth the headaches.

Cooper is nowhere near Brown.
