Any chance that Lavar joins the PSU coaching staff as an analyst?

what is he doing these days anyway?
Fox Sports AM drive radio with Brady Quinn.

Maybe Working with Quinn could provide him with additional incentive (I have no idea how Brady is to work with).

Apparently, LaVar was coaching his son along with Plax's kid (who is also his God child), Jerome Bettis' son and there were others that I don't remember off of the top of my head in 7 on 7?.

LaVar will be rooting for ND in the championship.....

Disappointed in him

And sadly, I will be too.
FTR, the 2 ex-Steeler players sons who LaVar previously coached are early enrollees and will be on the sideline for ND for the championship game.

Unless ND is playing against Penn State, I don't think that LaVar is capable rooting against those young men.

My motivation for rooting for ND may be a little different than his.....

Not me. I want them to suffer. Watching them celebrate like they won the Superbowl was vomit inducing. I am hoping against hope they lose to Ohio State exactly like they lost to them last year in South Bend....on the last play of the game.

Normally I’d agree, but my level of hatred towards Ohio State is different.

My line of thinking would be to have OSU dominate the game, but ND somehow squeaks it out at the end.

I don't know ND DC Al Golden personally, but I spent a considerable amount of time with a Molson Golden.

So there's that.....

I'm not rooting for a team and fan base that immediately jumped all over us, after we handed them a game they had no business winning.

F them. Go Buckeyes.

And you are welcome to root for whomever you please. That's the great thing about our country.

For myself, I'm tired of losing to OSU. On the field as well as on the recruiting trail.

OSU emerging victorious would be a net loss for PSU in the context of the above. At least in the short run.

We recruit against ND as well.

Won’t be watching but expect OSU to win and would prefer they do.

Rooting for ND to win, have Marcus take a pro HCing gig, and have Day leave because the Ohio zanies make staying at OSU unbearable. Win-win!

We most certainly do.

Now which team has been a larger thorn in our side over the last decade; ND or OSU? It's not close.

And my preferred scenario has OSU outplaying but losing the game more than ND winning it.

Even as crazy as Ohio State fans are, they just stick to football. To me, the Notre Dame fans were just a notch below the pitt fans with regard to name-calling and things from the Sandusky stuff years ago, which I thought was kind of ironic.

They’re going to remain a huge thorn in our side regardless of the outcome. If the media is going to make the conference narrative a big deal then let the big ten win another natty

I don't know. OSU already has pretty much every recruiting advantage over PSU. I'm not sure them winning makes it much worse.

ND on the other hand seems to be much on PSUs level. Them winning would hurt much worse.

I understand what you are saying, but my hope is that a loss with the talent that they have on their roster could be a catalyst for disarray in their program.

And perhaps a fluky type of win by ND would not be as impactful on PSU's recruiting.

And honestly, this is the only way that I see ND coming out on top in this contest.

In the Orange Bowl I think PS had the better talent on both sides of the ball and should have won. Those type of losses happen. I do not think ND recruits better than PS. I doubt anybody is a much better judge of talent than Franklin.

For the most part, I agree with you.

But can you please explain to me how this thought process has led to our current WR room.

Coach Terry was a PSU WR and I know that he knows WR talent.

Yet here we are....

More of a rhetorical question.

PSU recruits at a level much closer to ND than OSU. Although they do compete with OSU for some recruits.

As far as judging talent, I won't completely disagree. But I will present the current WR room and the kicking debacle at the beginning of the year as arguments against it.

Joe once said he left kickers alone because he didn't understand their mind set.

Recruiting kickers is a crap shoot. You can use our current kicker as a good example. Pretty much everyone in front of him was to be better.

We need a Barr again to instruct kickers during the off season.

Which shocks me because the whole scandal in the Catholic Church was much worse than anything we've seen!

Agree - lurked on a Domer Board before our game and a few Ped State's were posted and all I could think of was the total irony in that - geeze talk about no self awareness.

Saw some guy in a crowd shot before the PSU Notre Dame game with a Joe vs Jesus shirt on.

And ND winning a title puts both significantly ahead of us as opposed to one
