Any current movie recommendations or ones to avoid?

Trainwreck is getting great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. 94% positive. Kind of a date movie or chick flick. I don't pay to see these and wait for them to come out on netflix or whatever.

I am told that Mad Max is a must see in theaters although I haven't seen it.

i did watch Minimons with my daughter. Doubt it is your cup of tea. it was good and I got a great nap in (theater had those barco lounger thingys, which are great!).

The new Disney Pixar movie Inside Out is well done and very clever. Also saw Minions which is good if you need to catch up on your sleep.

I've seen everything out. Spy with Melissa McCarthy is good, mad max is great. Jurassic world is good. Ted 2 and minions aren't worth seeing. Inside out is pretty good, but tons of kids in the audience, obviously. I'd recommend spy then mad max as the 2 to see.

Thank you in advance.
About Elly. an Iranian movie by a well known Iranian director. Very tense movie about a weekend holiday by several families and how they interact to deal with a traumatic mystery. Keeps your attention for 2 hour sand without a bomb blast or gun fight.

Mad Max Fury Road is a spectacle unlike any other out there right now - the stunts and cinematography are pretty amazing (more than make up for thinly developed story and characters). Ex Machina, which is out on iTunes and On Demand, is the best movie I've seen recently. Alicia Vikander, who plays the AI in the film, is going to be a big star IMO (she's also starring in the very awesome looking Guy Ritchie take on 'The Man From UNCLE' released next month). The story hits on some familiar Philip K. Dick territory, but tweaks things a bit with the addition of the Turing Test.

I haven't seen much else so far this year, and to be honest, you're probably better off with a subscription to Netflix - watch Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Daredevil, Peaky Blinders, and the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer - as good or better than anything in a theater IMO.

Midnighter...just got done watching "Catastrophe" on Amazon and found it very amusing. With a new child, you may find it fun too. The two stars are really great.

I am also currently watching "john adams". i know its older but if you are a history buff, it is really great. Love Giamatti so far. Finally, since I am new to Amazon, I just finished "The Pacific". I know some didn't like it but it was a great contrast to Band of Brothers (same team did both). There may have been a little too much bashing of GI's in that theater, but I think they were trying to show what a hellish mess the pacific was against the Japanese.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll give it a look. And I've been wanting to finish John Adams - loved what I saw...
