Rich, have you heard any rumblings in the last few days? Like Harvey, I'm not ready to give up on him. Our currently available 4star targets are few and far between right now.

Flip targets? Chance Robinson?

UK lean on Brian Robinson. No date set yet, but some think he'll decide before school resumes.

Chance isn't likely unless we can get him back for a UV, perhaps White Out or Michigan game.

Staff is working Jonathan Paylor, NC WR. Perhaps even trying to flip Rico Scott away from Saban. Might end up with a late offer here a la OT Onoh that nobody knows of.

I'm discussing 2 different Robinsons. DE/Edge Brian Robinson who is uncommitted and WR Chance Robinson who is currently committed to Miami and.....who we are trying to flip.
Ok
Add ...
Liam Williams
Cole
Harvey is still a possibility
Cunningham
Ernest Willor
...there are more...

Yeah, I'm well aware Liam Andrews and Jaylen Harvey as 2 top potentials. For some reason the staff has never been high on Willor. I'm not sure why. Also, there is strangely little talk about Cunningham even though they've futurecasted him to us. It might have to do with how far he's fallen in the Rivals rankings.

You never know what's around the corner as a surprise target or commit.

Are you saying the staff doesn't really want Willor? Doesn't make sense. He is very highly ranked, 96 rating, #80 nationally and from an area we have success, Md. 247 says he is "warm" on us, OSU and Maryland. Hoping he cools on OSU because they already have two 5 star DT commits for '24.

I don't understand it either but I've heard that numerous times in the Lions Den. It's similar to highly rated DT Jordan Thomas who committed to Alabama but was not seen as a "fit" by our staff.

Willor was at IMG and in the process of transferring back to Maryland HS and was at PSU on an official June 2 and has visited multiple times. He is top 100 on every service and where are you getting that PSU is not interested....

See my reply above.

The Lions Den.... They didn't think Dotson or Amin Vanover or Carter was interested in PSU because they were quite... Here is a tip....Not all football players have the same personality.

I've read on a few boards that teams are backing off of Brian Robinson including Michigan and it seems it revolves around attitude and also his father.

In fact, OSU was willing to give him a personal workout and meeting with Larry Johnson and he refused. Obviously, OSU and Robinson have long parted ways as they never offered him.

Not sure how hard PSU is pushing for him, but it seems like he is trending towards Kentucky right now. His recruitment seems more and more like a soap opera.

Interesting... Seems like a responsible kind of guy dedicated to getting better at his craft...sure.

Maybe a Justin Shorter Redux story by John Updike ...is in the offing.

Who is "they"? "They", I think, are the same people who monitor both PSU Rival forums. In the Willor case, we're talking the disinterest of our staff versus his interest in us.

As usual... 'They' are a sunset of people that post here with no knowledge but an inclination...a whim... or a delusional moment...

I guess being invited up to State College for multiple visits is a sure sign of staff disinterest in a prospect.

Wrong board so I missed this, but still sounds like Robinson to UK at the moment. Nothing new to report here.

They are continuing to push for Chance, but again I don't see it. Sounds like UF or Miami for that one.

I'll end this thread Rip because I get a sense of irritation on your part. Understand, I don't necessarily agree with what I've heard or read. All I know is there is no discussion about Willor on any of the sites. What have you heard?

So you are saying there is a Chance?

What I have read on other sites.
Not from fans... I will repeat...what annoys me about most fan sites is when a recruit is silent.. loads of innuendo flies around on fan sites. This amounts to nothing but gossip or innuendo.

The PSU coaching staff respects the fact that some players and their parents don't want the hype. Therefore they keep it under their hats. History supports this... Again...Abdul Carter and Amin Vanover come to mind immediately. Quietly, they signed and showed up.

Beyond that NIL has substantially changed 2 things: 1 the frequency of flipping and the number of quality recruits that have held off even announcing their top X choices. Personally, I don't give much credence to what fans or even recently self anointed and wet behind the ears 'in the know' blogger's post... They cream their jeans when a kid says nice things about a visit. Even if a kid has a reputation for overly positive reactions to 4 or 5 other schools right after his visits to those schools.

There is a lot of time between now and loi day. Or, has time expired? PSU may lose a few and pick up a few. Who knows.. only time.

The three things I know about recruiting:
1. If fans really could properly evaluate prospects, they wouldn’t be fans they’d be coaches on college staffs.
2. If bloggers and reporters that work for the recruiting services could properly evaluate prospects, they also would be on college staffs. Plus they get to change their forecasts every time the wind blows a different direction. Thus falsely giving a perception of competency.
3. Please review items 1 and 2 above.
