I put ESPN on a little early as I wanted to watch the 2nd round of the NFL draft and the story running was inproprieties at Mississippi or Miss State, not sure (haven't been paying close attention lately, busy with work). In any event, they got Finebaum on and he blasted the NCAA for their "grandstanding" and "going overboard" and exceeding their authority" in the Penn State matter. Finebaum is, from what I can tell, a fairly respected sports reporter (I know, a contradiction in terms haha) and within the last couple weeks, he's carried the Penn State banner on two separate issues, the statue and now this. It's nice to see that public narrative continuing to change. It's been happening for a while but again it's nice to see it on a national broadcast.
As a quick aside, anyone catch the Alabama recruiting violations story? It kind of got bypassed because of the Miss story and the kid who blew $7M by posting a pic of him smoking weed (or his account was hacked and someone else posted the pic). Nice if you're Bama, the story takes a backseat due to a bigger story involving another SEC school going on at the same time.
