Weather permitting, I am planning on going to our baseball game at Pitt on Tuesday April 4. I live 20 miles west of Pittsburgh, so I know Oakland, but just wondered if anyone has been to a baseball game at Pitt since they built their new field? Any tips? Thanks in advance.

No. But I did smack a PITT fan upside the head with a baseball bat, once. Does that count?

Yeah, last year. Here are some highlights..l

They upgraded their baseball facility a few years ago. It's a huge huge improvement. That said, it's hardly reminiscent of Field of Dreams. It is on the edge of the Hill District, but so long as you wear your kevlar vest, you should be fine.

Get ready to have fun watching the players slide on carpeted "dirt".

FWIW, I believe their facility holds only about as many fans as our softball field.

Been there numerous times as my son played there during his college career. Parked on the street wherever you can find it. Field is nice. Windy as hell sitting on top of the hill.

Trees Field is pretty nice. Pitt baseball was very competitive in the Big East - they challenged for league titles/NCAA berths a couple times. Going to the ACC is a huge step up in competition with Miami in the league.

My son has played there several times the past couple years. It's turf but is a nice field. Parking is sort of a pain in the ass though. Don't park on the street beyond right field. Many balls go out there in BP. I've seen cars get hit there and even saw a foul ball go through a windshield of someone just driving by on the street along the 1B line.

Good luck and Go Lions!!!

Its actually pretty nice little venue. You can park on the street and trust me there will be plenty of seats. Little chilly at night. Stop at Peter's Pub pre/post game. Regardless of what people say its very safe up there. Have fun and good luck

I hear you. I park at a garage on Forbes, and walk up. I'm not a baby, like so may Pitt fans. When Pitt Stadium was there, every time I would meet a Pitt fan, I would ask them if they go to Pitt football games. Can't tell you how many times I heard "No, I would have to climb Cardiac Hill!" IT'S PITTSBURGH, THERE ARE HILLS! Nobody says you have to run the hill.
