Anyone going to watch the EPSYS tonight?

No.
The college girl who played basketball while fighting the brain tumor does not win the Arthur Ashe Courage award, and it goes to a sicko?
No reason at all for me to be interested.
I honestly only watch espin when Penn State sports teams are only shown on their channel. WVB, wrestling and selected FB games.

Don't have espn, but would not be tuning in to see Caitlyn Jenner winning awards

I know I won't.. ESPiN
Well, there is one possible reason to at least check in from time to time...

I've never watched the Espys in the past and didn't realize they were on tonight until I saw your post. From what I've read the courage award is a joke this year. In a sports context (which the Espys are), courage is something someone has when they persevere and overcome a monumental obstacle not of their making. Arthur Ashe overcame racism and discrimination to become a championship tennis player. Jenner's sports days are way behind him/her. Gender reassignment has nothing to do with sports. ESPN screwed up this one and all because a famous ex-Olympian wanted to grow tits and wear a dress.

He doesn't even have the courage to chop his twig and berries off...kind of ironic to win this award. I'll be watching just to see the reaction of all the athletes and I'm sure the PC police will be too so they can villify and blacklist anyone who doesn't jump out of his seat in jubilation.

With all of other and and honors

For all of her awards and honor, it's hard to believe Micha gives a hoot about a popularity contest. I can't believe that Danemiller (sp), formely UoM setter, was given the start over Micha at the World University Games.

The thing is, while at one time it would have taken courage to do what Caitlyn Jenner did, when it gets to the point where everybody says how courageous it is, then it's no longer courageous. It's courageous to do something if you're going to get a lot of grief for it, not if everyone is going to respond by telling you how courageous you are.

Only if I am assured that Chris Berman will yell "back...back...back....gone! a few hundred thousand times.

Seriously, I thought the Home Run Derby was one of the worst sports events I've ever seen (worse than NFL all-star games). I am still wondering if it was some kind of parody by The Onion.

Its not an awards show. Its a ratings / moneymaking garbage production. The real heroes aren't even invited. No need to watch men kissing or parading around in dresses. Simply wrong. I have my rights and voice as well.

It looks to me to be a 'for profit' scheme. I won't be watching. I'll pass on the opportunity to see the ESPN 'personalities '.

They could have easily picked a thousand more deserving people to win the courage award (like any athlete that has beat cancer or any athlete that has suffered a life changing injury). I will not be watching.

Me neither....going to a Rod Stewart concert.

Saw this today, then saw your post on Rod Stewart.

I used to work a lot in SoCal, Northridge area. A guy there was from Hungary, good guy. One day he comes in all excited, he and some mates were playing soccer. A limo pulls up and Rod Stewart jumps out, brings in a couple of his mates, and they play soccer for two hours. Afterward, RS sends his driver out for some refreshments and they sit and BS for a while. Said Rocket Rod was a fantastic guy.

This this just the filler until the Open Championship starts 5 hours later. Jenner is a media whore.

It was much better live and in person. That way, you did not have to listen to ESPN.

Me neither....going to a Rod Stewart concert.

Rod kicks about 35 signed soccer balls into the crowd during the show. It's hilarious watching geriatrics fight over the balls, especially if they aren't caught on the fly. 2 fogies were wrestling over one on the ground at the last show I went to. It was at the BJC and all employees were able to get as many free tickets as they wanted because the show sold so poorly. Great show though. My mom brought a bunch of people from Independence Place.
