Anyone have any ideas for identifying history of this old leather helmet?

A friend has a side business buying and reselling vintage and other collectibles. He just bought a leather football helmet, which is blue with white stripes. See the link below. I think someone could tell the age, make and model from the design, but there could be hundreds, if not thousands of teams (high school and college) that had blue and white school colors.

Quite a find Ranger, but the paint job on the helmet looks too recent, last couple of decades.
