The RPO thread was removed. Before that happened I went back and reviewed it. It seems I got your statement pertaining to national championship teams crossed with Ughhh's statement regarding the offense's simplicity. That went on to create a confused mess.
Here is what Ughhh wrote:
Spread doesn't rely on a veteran QB capable of making a bunch of complex reads. It's "6 in the box, run. 7 in the box, pass". Elegance and speed (in decision-making) in simplicity. It's why Freshman QBs can be regularly successful nowadays, no paralysis-by-analysis.
When he first described it, Moorhead's description of the offense did not seem simple.
I don't want this "apology" thread to turn into a discussion on RPO offense simplicity. So let's table that thought for another day.
