Are we all over the shock of Field's decommitment yet? We will still win NC's w/ or w/o him!

Yes, this was a serious blow that is hard to accept, but that's the way the ball bounces some times. Just remember back to those years that led up to our winning 2 true National Championships in the 80's and before. The amount of recruiting news back then was not nearly as readily available as it is today. I am sure we had "Elite" guys then who changed their minds too after verbally saying they were coming to Penn State. We just really never heard much if anything about it. Despite that, we still went on to win. The same thing will happen again. We'll have our John Shaeffer / Todd Blackledge / Curt Warner type players too who are just winners who give it their all in the pursuit to a championship. We just know things better these days due to social media. Hang in there as better days are here to stay!

Certainly a loss, BUT we are still loaded at QB. AND it will open up the recruiting for a TOP QB in the next class, when the timing is MUCH better. Had Fields come, it would have been to a VERY crowed depth chart. Other programs can promise him immediate starting. I was actually VERY surprised when he committed, he got caught up in the excitement.
Others (negative recruiting?) are pointing out the depth chart.
On the plus side I think Stevens will stay now :)

Very good points! Yes, it is a rationalization, but all true statements. With Fields, it was the wrong time, wrong place. We will get the right QB at the right time! Meantime, we currently have 2 right QBs in the right place. Neither were 5 star kids out of HS, but I doubt many, if any of us; would trade either for any other college QB today! (even Sam Darnold in our current offensive scheme)

Oh the drama......shock?.....serious blow?.....hard to accept? LMFAO, you seriously need to get a grip. I doubt any of these supposed outcomes IN REALITY apply to Coach Franklin & Co..... Some of you wackos are so over the top regarding the melodramatic story of a teenager changing his mind, it is beyond bizarre....and honestly laughably sad.

I'm not going to worry too much about it. As far as I'm concerned we are more than solid at QB for at least 5 years, pending an injury. I'm sure Franklin will bring in some talent in the meantime.

You mean PSU Football as we know it hasn't ended because a teenage kid made a public announcement that he'd changed his mind? I find your childish attitude to be unacceptable and I am outraged.

Any respectable adult would acknowledge the seriousness of this situation - a current high school junior publicly announcing he has changed his mind - as well as the impending doom and demise it implies for PSU football. Again, I'm disappointed and outraged by your childish behavior.

I'm relieved. Same with Parsons. PSU will find a very good QB with an upside and a pair of DEs who know how to STFU and play football.

You have to laugh at people who try to find deeper meaning and implications in the melodramatics of a current high school junior? The reality of the totality of what it means is really quite straightforward - Justin Fields will not be playing football / QB for PSU, which will prove to be his loss imho, not PSU's.
