1. Seeing Gesicki make that catch and take it in for a score ( his first) was very encouraging. The kid has been suffering with a bad bad case of the drops and was overdue for some good fortune. Sometimes all it takes is one.....
2. So. Cabinda is developing into quite the LBer. Lead the team with 14 tackles yesterday. Gonna be a good one.
3. Surprised to see Bowen's numbers - 6 tackles. I saw the one big play he made but didn't notice the others, during live action. (Reeder had 4 tackles, Walker 3, and Cooper had 2. Coach is developing good depth at LBer for the rest of the season. Good move.)
4. Fr. DE T Brown had 4 tackles and is steadily increasing his PT.
5.So. Apke had 5 tackles, trailing only Lucas with 8 among the DBs,.
6. All of the above players have 2-3 more years to play. We are loaded at LBer for the future, esp. when we get our two starters back.
7. I see 2015 as the year our D learns how to play as a unit. They show signs of greatness but still make the mistakes of youthfulness. Theyre fun to watch now, but it will be awesome when they learn to dominate.
8. Great job by Army adjusting to what we wanted to do, and playing pretty well against more highly talented athletes. Kudos to their players and coaches.
9. Again the O showed sparks but kept misfiring in critical situations. One of these days...... Hack is special when he throws it downfield. We need more of that. And we will find out this coming Sat if we are ready for BT pressure. The Rutgers game was promising. This game will go a long ways to telling us if we belong in the bottom, middle or in the upper third of the BT.
10. We've lost to all the remaining teams on our schedule but Indiana, last year. And Indiana is much improved. But vs OSU they lost their star QB and RB to leg injuries. Their backup QB ( who started against us last year as a true frosh) had a pretty good game vs OSU. This one will be close.
