GoPSUsports.com: Student-Athletes Garner 76 Winter Academic All-Big Ten Honors
(The Nittany Lion wrestling team, fresh off winning its sixth NCAA National Championship in the last seven years, led Penn State's winter teams with 15 Academic All-Big Ten honorees, which also topped all Conference wrestling squads.)

PennLive: Penn State's Cael Sanderson might not watch NCAA reruns, but having 5 champs was 'pretty special'
(some roster thoughts here, but in typical CS off-season style, no definitives)

Here's how I envision opposing coaches trying to gameplan for PSU:

"Maybe we can beat them using our skills on our feet" *watches tape on Jason Nolf* "well, that's not going to work"
"Maybe we can beat them with our mat skills" *watches tape of Zain Retherford* "well, that's not going to work"
"Maybe we can out scramble them" *watches tape of Bo Nickal and Mark Hall* "well, that's not going to work"
"I guess we'll just have to try and have our kids out smart them" *sees All B1G academic awards* *coach throws up hands and walks out of the room*

Here is my attempt at translating some of the Cael-speak in the second article:

a. "...133 would remain a question mark." - Tells me Suriano is not going to go 133; if he was, 133 would not be a question mark - 125 would. It does give credence to Cortez possibly moving up to 141.
b. Cortez "is thinking about going to 141" - see a. Definitely a possibility.
c. "...hopeful he'll (Cutch) come back" - Definitely gives credence to Cutch not utilizing his fifth year of eligibility once he graduates this spring. Seems like no final decision has been made.
d. N. Lee "will be a handful; he'll be ready to roll". Possibly a hint of no RS? I don't think he is being considered for 133 or 133 would not be a question mark IMHO. If he doesn't RS, it will present quite a dilemma if Cortez goes 141.
e. Suriano is doing well "bouncing around the mat" - very good news.
f. Cassar "is rehabbing well" - hope that bodes well, but not very clear.

In one short paragraph I think we learned quite a bit. Some rumors appear to be true (Cortez to 141, Cutch leaving); others not (Suriano to 133).

Fairly accurate assessment. I don't think Cortez to 141 is a lock yet. Suriano staying at 125, IS a lock. Cassar getting better, but that statement about hoping Cutch comes back, means he might not be ready right away.

The only definite I got from this interview, was Suriano will be back at 125, and will be 100%.

We're still in trouble at 133.

I stated in a previous post that I believe the strongest lineup for PSU in 2017/2018 is Cortez at 133 and either N Lee, K Moss or B Pipher at 141. I still believe that.

Jim's article seems to indicate that Cortez to 141 is POSSIBLE, but to me it didn't seem like it was a done deal yet. I think we're best with Cortez staying at 133, and the staff making the call at 141. So, basically I agree with you.

If N Lee will be "ready to roll", keeping Cortez at 133 and N Lee at 141 seems like a very good solution.
