Cael's comments about Zain Retherford winning the Hodge

http://www.pennlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2017/03/penn_states_zain_retherford_ea.html

Cael comments:

"Teching your way through the national tournaments, it's unbelievable, it doesn't happen,'' Sanderson said. "It's happened probably a couple times. Even last year he teched/pinned everybody and had a major in the finals. To do that two years in a row ... really impressive.

"That's legendary type of stuff there.''

When you come to Penn State (Cael) to create a dynasty... you're going to have some legends created along the way. Huge congratulations to Zain for being the Face of NCAA wrestling and being so well deserving of such an award.

Thinking out loud to myself as I do often when discussing Penn State wrestling to anyone who will listen. I saw IMAR begrudgingly having to hand over the Face of NCAA Wrestling title and the chance to win the Hodge when he was flat on his back with Cenzo covering him... to make sure he gave up the title. That's what team mates are for. For the leader of that team and the true face of NCAA wrestling... I take a bow and salute someone that anyone would wish their son to be. I couldn't be prouder... among the pile of National Championship trophies, B10 Ten Trophies and the Hodge Trophies that Penn State has collected whole sale over the past 6 years... it's the human beings behind the hardware that impress me the most. Inspire me the most to be the fan that I am. o_O

To coin a phrase from them... and you Champions... you know who you are... I'm humbled and grateful to have this much fun. As a fan, I just want to go out and have fun as you dismantle opponents on the mat and I'm grateful to be a fan of Penn State's virtuoso wrestling, chain wrestling and overly dominate wrestling. I've had more fun that one person should have during this unbelievable run of Legend making and Dynasty creating. It's what Cael said he wanted to do week one... when interviewed by GoPSUSports. Who's doubting now??? Get back before we sic Zain on you... or Nick... or Jason, or Cenzo, or Mark or Bo on you. Take your pick... you won't like the outcome.

As Deon Butler once said so eloquently... WE ARE PENN State, we're NOT NORMAL. We are LEGENDS!!!

The news here isn't whether Kyle should win the Hodge Award...that's an easy call based on the data. My infinite respect for the man (Kyle) is the result of how he handles himself 24/7, with total class.

The news is about a leader in the wrestling community, the current President of the BOD of the NWCA, a member of the NCAA Seeding Committee, a Head Coach at a Top D1 Wrestling School, and whatever other hats he wears, Tom Ryan, tweeting irresponsibly...and too often at that. It appears to me he can't help himself. It's polarizing stuff, offensive, and has no place in social media. Leadership 101 is lost on Tom Ryan, unfortunately.

Yes, agree with that - none of this reflects poorly on KS, he's a class act...it only reflects poorly on Ryan who is unable to separate his own personal opinions from those of the multiple higher-level wrestling organizations he is supposed to represent in an un-conflicted manner. He seems incapable of doing this, or even realizing how conflicted and biased he comes across when making these types of public statements.

Hey now, no U.S. national politics, please! ;)

Couldn't write a better description of PD3.
