Athlons is out - we are #19

if it was the mid 90's you could have picked Florida, Florida State and Nebraska. Things cycle from decade to decade but it's always a small predictable list at the top.
I agree with you but the creation of the PORTAL has stymied the natural cycle. Ie. when Ohio state is supposed to be naturally down or rebuilding due to graduation they get a Blue Chip QB through transfer or the portal.

Which they actually didn't do this year. I think they might regret that.

Why? They have two 5* QBs coming in and a guy (Ryan Day) well known for developing QBs. This is hardly the Tate Martell scenario from winter-spring 2019 after Dwayne Haskins went pro early and Joe Burrow had already left.

And I can't think of any QB on the transfer market even remotely comparable to Justin Fields.

I just read that OSU is expecting approximately 15 of the 2023 class's top-20 QBs to attend OSU's QB camp next month. Day and Lincoln Riley are absolutely balling out in recruiting QBs, so I doubt they'll be resorting to the portal very often unless they're in an unexpectedly sudden pinch.

The prevalent opinion here is we would rather have Clifford than their options, do you see that differently?

As I've said -- Clifford has shown glimpses that he can be very good, and the OSU QBs haven't even thrown a pass in live action yet. So nothing is settled.

But I'd imagine that only the PSU board would rather have our QB room than OSU's QB room.

Are you kidding? This board would rather have any QB other than the one we have (especially the one we start) in any year.
