So I'm watching the BTN and I see a commercial by O$U' s Compliance Department advocating that if you see anything wrong, you should email them to report same.

Three thoughts occurred to me:

  1. This has to be a bit embarrassing for PSU's "Compliance Dept", especially since they've held themselves up as the model for all other institutions to follow, and
  2. It's clear why O$U gets preferential treatment by the B1G on and off the field, and
  3. I suspect O$U's "Violations Reporting" email in-box is overflowing.

ya.... like OSU fans are lining up to report compliance issues.....
Branding a con as something positive.... wonder where they got that Idea?

All three were stupid and childish.

The commercial is real. I'm just the Messenger.

The O$U commercial was then followed by some scUM-sponsored commercial starring Harbaugh. If PSU wants to hang with the BigBoyz, they need to join in sponsoring the conference's media outlet.

Perhaps Sandy can have a few "Bye Week Bake Sales" to fund such self-promotion.

I didn't see that but if true, I assume it's in response to the FBI basketball sting.

Schools are trying to get out in front of this in case it explodes. Alabama reportedly did a review of its bball staff and fired an advisor. That got buried in the Pitino blitz. Indiana's president summoned the AD and university lawyers and ordered them to review IU bball and see where any pitfalls may lay. They say they found nothing so far. Ohio St is now suddenly concerned about compliance (at least publicly).

If something happens down the line these schools can say they investigated right away to show 'good faith' in case the NCAA comes calling.

As an aside, I may have missed it, but haven't seen any PSU official- (Barron, Sandy, bball coaches, etc) make any statement about PSU bball and any internal review.

Sandy will soon announce the appointment of a new Assistant Athletic Director responsible for Bribery Suppression.

I think most PSU officials forgot we have a BBall program.

I thought the issue was coaches taking bribes to steer future pro players to agents. Is it even possible this could affect PSU? The last player drafted was Calvin Booth in the 2nd round 20 years ago.
