Back from Oregon State vs Colorado State. It was a great win for the home team. The buzz at this game was heavily focused on Colorado State joining the pac12 and helping to create a 16 team super conference. Everyone I spoke to said "the Pac12 can't ignore us anymore".
They are very focused on getting there.
Some photos for you with some explanations on what they are.
Pregame at CSU. The bottom section of the bowl is the entire student section. It is actually intense. The kids are right on the back of the visiting team and I freaking loved it. It got intense at times with players and students exchanging words.
Another look at the students.
This is the field level club. There is an outdoor field level porch kind of like what you see in the Cowboys field.
Inside the locker room. It's nice.
Next to the field level club this is the player walk way. Notice the glass. The club members get to watch the team come in and out as they head to the locker room.
My favorite part of the stadium is the New Belgium plaza in the endzone. If you know Fort Collins you know that New Belgium is kind of a big deal there. They sponsored the endzone and it's like a beer lovers paradise. Football on one side and craft beer on the other. There are no seats in the endzone it's a plaza with rows of standing tables. They are first come first serve. It's awesome. The best part is after the game the plaza stays open and people hang out for quite some time drinking and talking about the game. Genius. Hope Penn State has something like this in the new stadium
Some of these features would be great for Penn State to include in the new stadium especially the player walk area. I think I saw that would be part of it, can't encourage it enough.
If you have never been to Fort Collins it is an awesome college town. Might be top 5 for me. Breweries everywhere, the town is super cute, you're an hour from Denver and it's super green if you get what I'm saying. Now that the stadium is brand new put it on your list. Must go.
I'll be at Houston vs UT San Antonio this week. This game has taken on new meaning with the flooding in Texas. I live in Austin and I can tell you that things are not good in Houston and down the coast. Keep everyone in your thoughts things are about to get a lot worse in Houston with the next round of rain coming.
