Major shout out to the fans that sat through the deluge in the first half. Only positive was it wasn't cold.
As for the game.
I thought play calling was light years better than last week. Hack under center, counters, wr's screens,
fly patterns and...wait for it yes even a toss sweep. Someone read my post last week. LOL.
While Hack might not have had great stats he played pretty well and some of the TE's need do a better job of catching the ball.
Barkly is legit he will be starting by the Army game...maybe SDSU.
The O-line. Did better but still need a lot of improvement. There is a glimmer of hope though. If you listened to Jack or were at the game there were plays to be made and they were there but it seems there was just always the 1 break down that stopped it. Ham said he saw improvement but they need to stay on their blocks longer. I didn't hear what the injury was to Nelson but damn. Kudos to Paris Palmer for coming in and getting the job done. I'm guessing the RS are going to have to come off a couple O-lineman.
For those wanting a blow out. I agree but damn we left a lot of points on the field and that has to stop.
An awesome opening Kick return and we get nothing. A punt that Apke could have picked off the punters foot and he over runs it. He has to make that play. 2 drops by Mike G. anyone of which would have scored and then the injury to Nelson costing us at least 3.
One grip I still have. 3rd and less than 4...get under center. We already have a shaky O-Line that can't hold their blocks. Why make the running back run 7 yards to pick up 1,2 or 3? Stupid. Still would like to see the staff put Zettle back there occasionally.

Defensive line was good. Nassib had another good game. Johnson was a Beast and Zettle had a quietly pretty good game. Not too sure yet about Sickels and Schwan.
Considering the LB'rs were without Bell and White I thought they did pretty well. Reader had a very good game and Cabinda was steady, both are going to be excellent.
I thought the secondary did pretty well. Buffalo does have a couple of decent WR's and a very good QB.
But I'd still like to see Allen and Lucas making some more plays but both were excellent in run support.

Special teams. So far the return game is a HUGE upgrade. I really like Tompkins and Allen and I liked Koa as well the week before. On a crappy day and what was probably and slippery field Joe J. did ok.
Punting MUST GET BETTER. STOP THE RUGBY STYLE CRAP. Oddly enough the Aussie punting looks better punting from a traditional formation.

So yes we got better and there was improvement. Is it good enough to beat RU? I don't know.
Did anyone see them play? How did they look?
Honestly, right now, with the state of the O-line and the injuries I think it will be a struggle to get to 6 wins.
Hope I am wrong. But I def. feel better about the team this week.
