A woman was strangled and sexually assaulted by a Cumberland County man she met on the dating app Tinder, according to state police.
A 22-year-old woman from York Springs agreed to meet 22-year-old Eduardo Antonio Venegas Del Muro, of New Cumberland, in person at 1:42 a.m. Tuesday in the area of the Carlisle Pike in Latimore Township, Adams County. They were in Del Muro’s vehicle at the time of the incident, according to police.
When they exited the vehicle, Del Muro struck the woman multiple times and strangled her until she was unconscious, state police said. Del Muro then sexually assaulted the woman before leaving the scene, according to state police.
Del Muro was later found and arrested. Court documents indicate he is charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, rape, sexual assault, strangulation, criminal use of a communication facility, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, indecent assault, and indecent exposure.
State police also said Del Muro is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer.
