Barb Doran is bringing in Donna Shalala to Board retreat

Are we defining "acting courageously" to include unconditional surrender, paying millions in unwarranted fines and settlements, millions more to avoid discovery and destroying the reputations of people far more honorable than our "courageous" misanthropes?
If that's 'courage', give me good old fashioned yellow bellied cowardice any day.

They threw Paterno under the bus knowing that he had less involvement with Sandusky than many of them.

This sums up the whole mess; from the BOT, to the State and local government, including the Second Mile and all its ties.

This is a broad generalization, purely speculative.

Some day everyone should go take the trolley ride, at the Hershey Chocolate building, and hear the spiel about what Milton S. Hershey did for all the under privileged and orphaned boys living in the cities of Philadelphia and New York. My son looked at me and laughed, "Sounds like slave labor." I didn't take the time to explain. Go... take the ride... listen to the script portrayed by the actors on the bus. Tell me what it sounds like. See if Clemente rings a bell.

"I have made sure we have a blue-chip panel of speakers known for their independence and deep experience in governance, including Donna Shalala..."

Now that's pretty funny bringing in the CEO of the Clinton Foundation. Considering Donna was appointed HHS Secretary by Bill, she's about as independent a CEO as I am for the foundation that bears my own family's name.

”She showed the kind of leadership we sorely needed in our own struggles with the NCAA."

Please just stop! Donna didn't have the death penalty hanging over her head and less than 24 hours to make an institution altering decision. I will strongly argue that PSU's leadership acted courageously under extraordinarily difficult circumstances in dealing with the NCAA.

"I will be advocating for candidates because of what they know, not who they know, and for their ability to think independently and to ask tough, informed questions."

So tell me then Barb, why would you bring in a Donna Shalala who received multiple below market rate loans from Countrywide Financial because the corporation considered her friends of Angelo?
