Even though I think 125 is a weak weight class, I have to go with Spencer.

After I saw Steveson destroy Parris I went with him. That was way more impressive to me after seeing Parris beat Cass and Kerk.
To me, Lee has made two major improvements, strength and using leverage. He is absolutely amazing.

Lee is best wrestler. However you could see Lee getting caught up in a scramble and getting in some trouble.

Steveson might be a great wrestler, but I wish he'd take his act to pro wrestling.

I commented earlier this season that he seemed to have outgrown his antics. I guess he was saving them for the big stage.
I think that had a lot to do with Parris tweet, ( you can't hide forever) I didn't see Steveson hiding today but I bet Parris wishes he could have! Let them have some fun.
Spencer is amazing and probably a shoe in for the Hodge, but the weight overall is just so weak am not sure the freshman NC Spencer would have looked that much less impressive.

I am not certain of his plans......but he is a definite personality. If he wins NCAA's which is a near certainty......and an Olympic Medal......especially Gold.......he will be a very marketable commodity who will have many million dollar offers in WWE and MMA. He will have many $$$ offers. Would you want to forgo that money and keep going....risking a loss or injury that might reduce said options? He is no dummy. If he wins NCAAs and the Olympics he will be a wealthy young man with many profitable options.......none of which involve paying for another year of college so he can wrestle again at NCAAs.
Please ask this question again in 4 years. Right now Brooks is at such a comparative disadvantage as a result of being so early in his career. If my hunch proves right, in four years he will be our first 4 time champ and an olympic gold medalist. Neither Steveson or Lee will be able to match that resume.
I think putting Brooks on your list has a little of "homer" mentality. I love the kid and his class. But if you were only going to put 3 choices on the ballot, I would think Deakin should be on it.
I'm a huge Brooks fan however, Brooks and Stevenson are roughly the same age. Brooks may get there, but right now is not on the same level. Gable may be the best in the world at his weight class.
Deakin has some strong competition he has to get past first this year (I suppose you could say the same about Brooks). Looking forward to seeing Carr and Hidlay and Deakin go at it.
