Beau gets 7 figures...

This is why I chuckle every time I read about OSU's $20 million roster. They (OSU) just let this out. If the truth and real figures were known, many schools like Oregon (Phil Knight), Texas, TAMU and on and on, etc... probably dwarf that figure. I've read that the 2 Texas QBs - Ewers and Manning - are pulling in somewhere between $8 to 10 million together. That Texas oil money goes a long way

Only issue I have with article is that it is incorrect that Beau is "transferring" - he will graduate from PSU with an Undergraduate Degree from PSU this Semester. He is enrolling at Mizzou post-PSU-Ungraduate Degree in a completely new program of study.

Well given that there is no "return" on these payments, they are not "investments", so the longevity of individuals donating massive sums of money every year is questionable, at best, imho.

This whole model does not seem sustainable imho - the only portion really sustainable is the Revenue Sharing with athletes the schools are now permitted to provide.

I wonder if these numbers are inflated sometimes. Everyone reported Michigan was giving Underwood 10-12 million. Underwood’s dad said it was 1.5 million a year. Who do we believe in these reports? The entire thing is out of control IMO.

"Valued at"...meaning a lot of this could include travel for his parents, a car, etc. He's not getting 1.5M.
People need to realize these numbers are inflated. If Beau got 1.5M in cash there would be 100s of guys making 10M+

What eventually happens is greed and jealousy. Teammates say why am I going to block for you with all that money your making? I saw it on a lesser scale when it was "illegal" for cash payments.. It creates internal strife within the team.
Oh well, players who have an attitude like that will lose their spot on the depth chart pretty quickly i' would think.

Exactly. They are little more than masturbation.

I met someone recently who has been involved in NIL since it became legal. He laughed and made it clear you should never believe the numbers you read. They’re all grossly misleading.

The minimum salary for an NFL rookie is 795k.

Strange times we live in
Beau isn't being paid 1.5M. Even if the report is correct it has a value of 1.5M so that likely includes where he's staying, his car, travel for his parents, etc. Then, based on most other inflated reports, he real number is maybe half of what is being reported.

Well if he was still here we wouldn't consider him a new recruit.

Huh??? What??? So he didn't graduate from PSU? WTF are you trying to say here??? Utterly baffled by this doozy.
He's saying that a player graduating rarely means they leave which is why we don't claim to have recruited them.
Next you'll say this was about the education lol

Yeah he is going for his masters in “finance.” $1.5M of finance.

Great that he is learning to invest and grow his money while he is still young. Grateful opportunity to come out of college with a little best egg and an education to boot!

Is this per year or for his 2 yrs of eligibility?
Probably per year but remember he's not getting 1.5M. It's valued at that which means

His housing (value inflated)
His car (value inflated)
Travel and accommodations for family and potentially an out of state girlfriend
An insurance policy protecting him if he's injured (lots of value here at little cost)
Some Mizzou swag/clothes
Free tickets to events at Mizzou (concerts, etc)
It's nothing close to 1.5M in cash. See the nonsense around Underwood.

It's pretty funny to see you try so hard on this one. You said nobody would want him and he'd never get paid. Your number of posts seem to be proportional to how wrong you are. If he winds up starting for an SEC team your post count will go up to around 1000 per day.

I didn't say either of those things--ever
Why do people just make up things?
In fact, I said he should have left last year

Lando gets stuff into his head and runs with it compulsively. He's had a burr up his butt about Beau all year long.

After Beau turned in a season-saving performance in the 2nd half against Wisconsin, Lando criticized him for throwing the wrong patterns.

Then came word that Beau was portaling out at which point he became a "coward" in Lando's eyes...though our coach went out of his way to issue a statement praising Beau to the high heavens.

More recently, since word of Beau's nice NIL deal with Missouri has broken, Lando has been at great pains to assure us, over and over, that it's not what it seems to be, it's exaggerated, it's inflated, it's meaningless and so forth.

I mean, Lando's trademark act is downright comical at this point.

That's why his monicker is LoadoInTheCommodo, because he's always full of shat.

Throwing the wrong patterns? What?
It's values at 1.5M allegedly....he's not getting 1.5M. How his common sense comical?

Well he left and got big money. I don't care, for me he left his team mates during a playoff run. People can make excuses for him and blame the system, but in the end he owns the decision, and I personally don't respect the decision. He went with self over team. No excuse!! I'll be rooting for whoever Missouri plays next year!!!!

He would have to pay income tax on all of that, so yeah, it’s the same as receiving cash.

Complete nonsense. Beau graduated from PSU - his eligibility to play in CFP Playoff games was based on his Fall Enrollment and he wanted to play. It is PSU that prevented Beau from playing - not Beau walking away from his teammates. Beau was eligible to play in the CFP Playoff games under NCAA Rules and wanted to play - he was dismissed from the team by PSU, so you're completely full of $hit in blaming Beau. He absolutely is not to blame - he could have played and would have played, but for PSU not only preventing him from playing, but dismissing him from the team.... so you have it dead bass ackwards, Beau's now Alma Mater abandoned him, not the opposite.
