Football QB Beau Pribula expected to enter the Transfer Portal

College football is ruined. Beau is a significant loss. If Drew gets injured or begins to take a hissy fit we are done!!! I have said before Drew reminds me so much of Christian Hackenberg. I dont see his career in the NFL lasting very long. I dont see much improvement between this year compared to last and I dont see much going forward. He is a decent mediocre QB playing football at Penn State.
All of this is hysterical

This is hilarious. The reality is the former Penn State backup is probably going to get a huge NIL payment at his next stop. Players have complete autonomy in a free agent like environment. You can’t ask for a better situation as a player.
Don’t feel sorry for Pribula. He will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Big risk for whatever school agrees to take the transfer. What if Beau plays and tears his ACL, meaning he'd miss all of next year or even worse has a career ending injury? Would that school still be required to honor his scholarship? If not, would there be anyone left for them to recruit to take his place? That could screw that school over. And if they aren't forced to honor the commitment to Beau it screws Beau over too. This is all a no win situation because of the stupidity of the college football calendar.
I know there are certainly risks to this, for all parties involved. But I think it's similar to putting in a 2 week resignation at work.

What do you call 100 Lawyers at the bottom of the Ocean.......

Oh so 99.9% of football players are dumb - got it. I am sure you were the President of your MENSA Chapter in College as well doofus.
Jersey has the most hazardous waste per capita. California has the most lawyers per capita. Jersey had first choice in which they wanted.

I see a lot of progress in leadership this year.. He settled down and showed ability to go though his progressions for secondary reads. Defensive schemes are very complex in this era compared to the past. With the way the NIL is now, he can afford to stay and develop in college compared to the pros. Look at how the QBs are thrown to the wolves and have to.learn on the fly. Unfortunately it cost us Beau. Only have 5 years to get on the field. Playing time is everything to these athletes.

With opinions like that I question if you've even seen a game with Allar playing QB in the last 2 years. Allar is 10x the QB that Hack was.

I don’t know that we have seen a Penn State QB in the last 30 years play better than Allar did against USC. Allar is a far better QB than “decent mediocre”, and he keeps getting better as he gains experience.

He’s best qb Penn state has had since Collins. The nfl blueprint is showing the more college experience the better. Allar is still young and this was no brainer.

I'd still like to understand what makes this situation different than say Brown at OSU or several of the players from other schools who've entered the portal. Why can't he stay on the team? It's just all conjecture.

It was correctly pointed out to me that BP is a grad transfer which is different from the recently established transfer portal.

So it is different. I'm just not certain how. But the people who apparently do possess this knowledge indicate that it was not feasible(?)

There's nothing--he's just upset with how things played out

Are you sure Brown's not a graduate? Pretty sure he's graduating as well
There's absolutely no difference--do you think any school can't get him in a grad program late? Again, he was a communications major, he's not going to med school.

Maybe Brown already has a spot lined up and was told his new team will hold it? Will he leave at some point if OSU makes a deep run? Who knows.

These transfers need to get enrolled before the spring semester starts. Do the admissions offices make exceptions for late arrivals? I mean, at some point these guys still need to attend class and do some schoolwork.

All of this is fair--but he still can stay for the game on the 21st

Compared to Brown, I surmise that Beau will have more offers to be a starter than Brown will at the P4 level.

Beau was very likely under the impression that Allar was turning pro after this season. A returning Allar means he isn't starting in '25. Beau wants to start and that means going somewhere else.

If he feels like he needs to be taking visits this week instead of practicing for PSU, that's on him to decide, which he did.

Brown will likely have to go G5 unless he's content being a backup elsewhere. Those seats are generally open longer than P4 ones.

Just my take.

I think Drew has done very well - he's a much better athlete than some give him credit for. If there's any knock imho, it's the speed and ultimate decision making of his reads (he misses open receivers on occasion) as well as not getting the ball out when he's had plenty of time to make a decision even if it's just to throw it away in a safe place (certainly doesn't have the quickest release) - however, and this is a big however, this is only in comparison to QBs who have become elite at the next level, while Drew is still a work in progress and developing. For instance, he has done much better this year in extending plays - USC a good example. I think Drew was smart to come back - college gives him more time to develop as a starter (i.e., versus live action), he would not be afforded this luxury at the next level.

I'm not sure that Beau is even in the top 5 available portal QBs today.

I'm not saying he's a top 5 portal QB. I'm saying somebody in the P4 is willing to pay him to come be their starter or at least show up thinking he is.

I don't believe Brown nor Stone have such offers.

Yep. And he won't be able to legally drink until March 4th, 2025.

Dillon Gabriel, by contrast, started 12 games in 2019. (UCF). He's thrown 2,070 collegiate passes over his six-year career. By contrast, Allar has attempted 773 passes in his three years. 713 as a starter.
