An altered state
Scuba diver/brewer makes beer from yeast in a bottle of beer recovered from a shipwreck.

Would be interesting to taste to see how different it is.

While doing a web search for article I found several others with a similar story. Anyone ever tried any of these ancient brews?

Jamie Adams, co-owner of Saint James Brewery New York, fills a glass with his new beer, Deep Ascent, at the brewery in Holbrook on Wednesday. Deep Ascent was brewed with yeast salvaged from bottles of English ale that had been on the SS Oregon, which sank off Fire Island in 1886.

Those that have didn't live to give a review of the brew

Unusual for yeast to go moldy, though it does happen. More likely that it loses its effectiveness and then you have flat beer right out of the brewing tank.

Yeast will continue to live as long as it has food and viable living conditions. If it goes dormont, it can be revived.
