Being reported Chip Kelly to the Raiders as their OC

If the game was Oct 1….. yeah.

But by Nov 1 they should be a fine tuned machine again,
I understand the enthusiasm by PSU fans - and rightly so - as it should be a top 5 team next year but many are going to be very disappointed if they think OSU will disappear and not be a factor for the B1G and NC. They are super deep and they've been adding some key Portal acquisitions.

And Oregon should be the other - besides PSU and OSU - that could bring home championships. Anyone of those 3 could win it all

A lot is made of that, but I'd be curious to see how all teams stack up in that regard. OSU just hasn't lost a lot since we joined the Big 10. Period. Home, away, doesn't matter.
True but very few teams have had legitimate shots to beat OSU except us, Oregon and Michigan. So of course the middle of the pack B10 teams will lose to them year in and out.

We just cannot beat them at this point. I have seen this bad movie long enough and the proverbial ball being pulled away as Charlie Brown is about to kick it to realize that it doesn't matter how down OSU is there is a mental block with us when we play them. Just like Day with Michigan. I agree we have probably our best shot in years but we thought 2023 was a good shot. Nope. 2024, not quite. So 2025? Would not bet on it.

Agree. PSU is the only one with a returning starting QB.

Yep. They will be good and not like Michigan this year. We should start a thread on creative ways PSU can lose to OSU that we have not seen yet...Hmmm. let's see...

-Pick six to DE.....check
-Holding negates game turning scoop and score ....check
-WRs non existent....double check
-Can't score from a goal to go situation with best player not touching ball....check
-Defensive collapses in 4th quarter...check
Taunting penalty .....check
-QB underperforms and shrinks in the big moment.....check

Note: Some of these are so special and critical to locking up an L that we like to carry them through to multiple games.

Maybe some kind of huge special teams gaffe is up next. Ridiculous ineptitude.

Yeaaaaaaaahhhhhh. They fist started saying that over three hours ago and so far not one of the regular beat writers or the school have confirmed it. Buckeye Scoop is a very dubious source. It's run by former player Kirk Barton and super fan Ken Stickneey ( known online as Nevadabuck). They got their credentials taken away and banned from the OSU facilities a couple years ago. They are wrong more than are right. Take anything from them with a grain of salt. Day also said just earlier today that they were going to take their time on hiring replacements for the staff that left so they could get it right.

I doubt this is true. Maybe in a month, but not now.

Yea, agree, those two - and Buckeye Scoop - are bozos who should not be taken seriously. I have a Buckeye friend who clued me in on Barton and can't stand him. The only two OSU sites that I view anymore are Bucknuts and Eleven Warriors

2025 should be Allar's year. He just needs to get away from the occasional mental blocks of the past - the talent and supporting cast will be there for him in 2025
I think he thinks too much. Get a psychologist, become a born again Christian, and take the pressure off of yourself. perform in the moment.

I'm not sure why we're convinced he has the weapons
An elite run game for sure. A great OL for sure. Reynolds Dinkins and others should be fine at TE but not Warren (obviously)
I hope the WRs aren't worse and they shouldn't be but are the good enough to win a title?

So far TOS insiders have been dead on correct about everything they've said. Those Buck lurkers in here have denied them like Judas, every step of the way.

The latest word is Hartline will get his promotion but Day will call the plays.

Oh and by the way, every portal possible from there that the insiders discussed is still on the table

I'm not saying Hartline won't take the deal but I just wonder why take the O.C. job if you aren't calling plays?
I read an article on Hartline around a year or two back and he's not your normal asst. CF coach as he's already somewhat wealthy with the investments he made with his NFL money. He's at OSU (his alma mater) because he just loves the place and also loves coaching all of those unbelievable WRs he's brought to OSU.

To say he was a step up from that OSU dipshit - Zach Smith - as a WR coach is a huge understatement

Someone can check the math but this should be close-

Not pulling the new(er) additions but none have beaten OSU in Columbus as conference members. Oregon and Nebraska each have 1 win at home (2025 and 2011 respectively).

Oregon, Iowa, Purdue and Michigan have beaten them more recently. The only teams to beat them more recently than us in Columbus are Michigan this season and MSU in 2015. The dominance is staggering, especially recently. Almost everyone's wins were the Fickell season in 2011 and prior. We were actually tied with Michigan for most wins over them during our time in the conference until Michigan started doing or not doing whatever it is they are accused of.

Besides Michigan and Oregon only PSU has talent approaching OSU. We should not be this inept against them for the last decade. Forget about winnining there how about just winning in HV more than once in ten years?

I saw an excerpt of a Ryan Day interview by Joel klatt. The issue of Chip Kelly came up and it is obvious that there is no friction between the two. Day said that Kelly was hired with the goal of winning a national championship and he and Day achieved that goal, and he is happy for Kelly moving up in the nfl.

Kelly and Josh Fryar did an incredible job coaching the offensive line, switching from The zone blocking scheme to a gap scheme after the Michigan game and it working very successfully. This after losing their two best lineman. One commentator stated that you never seen anything like that done before.
